How far do you live from your parents?

My parents live about 10 minutes from me. We live here because we are both from here and this is where my parents are. I would like to move now. I would like to live somewhere prettier and not as hot. One reason I am going into education is because Justin can transfer or get a sales position somewhere else one day. There are schools everywhere. Don't get me wrong, though. That is not the only reason I am going to teach! :D

Now that I married I live about one hour from my parents. I have lived much further than this in the past though. Right before getting married I lived only about 15 minutes from them.

I still live with my parents. They agreed to let me live here as long as I was going to college. They also pay for my college. I help them out by cooking dinner, keeping up the house, and working for my mom. I feel my parents have been more than generous. I will be very sad to leave them.

I live about an hour from my parents. It really doesn't deter my dad, he stops in all the time which I don't mind. But my mother is terrified to drive on a road with more than 2 lanes total. So the idea of navigating the parkway and narrow, crowded, one way streets of Pittsburgh keeps her away for the most part.

Up until we moved my parents and Mark's mom and step dad were almost an hour away. His dad was over an hour away. Now that we've moved my parents and mark's mom and steph dad live in the same town as us and its about a 5 minute drive for us/ Mark's dad is still an hour away.

My parents live about 35-45 minutes away depending on how fast I drive. :bbmrgreen:
Now my mil and fil we live about 5-10 minutes from each of them but it's funny because we go to my parents more often and they are farther away.

My parents live about 5 miles down the road from me. I try to go see them about every couple of weeks or so.
DH's Dad (mom is deceased) lives about 20 mins from us, we don't see him very often, but he stays busy. We do talk to him at least a couple of times a month.

My mo lives about 6 1/2 to 7 hours away from me. Or should I say I live away from her, I am the oen that moved away. My sister and her family live in the same town as my mom. My real dad who I hardly ever see or talk to lives about 30 mins out of the town my mom is in. Now Nicholas' mom lives about a 13 hour drive away. She is in WV. So we dont have family around us. It is just us. We are both trying to talk our moms into moving this way. His mom has no other kids and has nothing tieing her down down there. She is talking about movign up here one day. My mom has a 16 yr but it is jsut her and him. My sister has had my mom in the same town forever. It is my turn now. There is nothing there for my mom or my brother. I told my mom to figure out what she would have to do to get her disabilty switched from Maine to NH. I want her here with me.

My mother is a 5 and a half hour drive away in Maine. I would love to fly, but it's really hard to get a flight into Portland for any decent amount of money. My father lives in Florida, so I would definitely NEVER drive there, unless there was some strange reason I couldn't fly. (I try to never say never!!)

I am currently living with my parents. Although, after Clayton and I get married we will only be a few minutes from both sets of parents.

my parents live 5 minutes from us and IL live 5 minutes from us. when we bought our house, this is exactlly what we wanted- we both are very very close to our parents and each others and i like that we are so close in a rush we can all get to each other- one night FH had a seizure and his mom was there before the ambulance and my mom was there as they pulled up- it was comforting to not be alone during a scary moment like that- wouldnt trade it for the whole world. - ohh and my bro is on our street- hehe its always fun to have my big bro around, whenever i get bored, im like - COME OVER!! :)

:)I live about 10 or 15 minutes away from my parents. I love it because they are always there when I neeed them. Its also good for my son because he loves his grandmmother and paw paw! We see them at church on Wed and Sun. And when ever my dad is off we go over there and we watch movies and order out. I see my mother every day, because we work at the same hospital. My fmil she lives 2 buildings down from us! Once we moved into our town house its seems as if she followed us!!!
My mom is about an hour and 10 minutes South from where I live, and Matt's mom is about 15 mins from where we live. My dad is about 2 hours north of where we live, and his dad is in Texas. :)

I still see my parents about every week or so because they live close by. DH only sees my family on holidays though.
Even though they only live 20 mins away, we don't see DH's Dad and stepmother too often. We all stay pretty busy, but DH talks to his Dad fairly regularly.
We live about an hour from Chad's parents and we live about 1 1/2 hours from my dad. We don't make it over there very often because we rarely have a day off together and neither of us like to go visit by ourselves. We still talk to our parents on a daily to weekly basis though.

According to Google Maps I live 2,661 miles from my mom and it would take 39 hours to drive ;)
I live further from my dad but Google no longer gives their goofy driving directions for crossing the Atlantic.

I live about 800 miles from my dad and 2400 miles from my mom. Yeah, those are long distances, but I kinda like it that way. I'm not really close to them. Chris' parents live near my dad. He's close to his parents, but likes living far away from them.

I live about 3,000 miles or so from my mom - I'm in California and she's in Virginia. :) Well, I don't know how smiley face that is, but we make it work.

We live a mere 1.7 miles from FH's parents. My mom lives 67 miles to the south, which can be anywhere from 50 minutes to an hour and a half depending on Denver traffic...

I'm jealous of everyone who lives close to their parents!
I'm so very close with my family and my FH family but we moved about 2 years ago from MD to SC for my Clint's job and now we moved again to GA so right now we are about 11-12 hrs from both our families! its very hard for me and I miss them SOOO much! I talk to my parents every day!
I've tried to convince my parents to move down here with us! I know we wont be here for ever hopefully only 2 years more! My parents would of but I have an older brother (14 yrs older) and he has 3 kids so thats not fair of me to ask!
I cant wait to move closer to my family atleast a 2 hr or closer drive I can handle for sure!

Just because somebody is geographically close doesn't mean that they're as close emotionally!
My parents live about 20 minutes away from me. We see each other for my parent's birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter.
Fiance's parents live about 30-35 minutes away, and same thing with him, although in his case there's nothing untoward about it, his parents get along fine with him, they have just made their own life and don't constantly pressure him to get together, like mine do.
During the summer, though, my parents move to their summer home, which is a good 10-12 hour drive away from where Fiance and I live. Needless to say, we don't make that drive all that often!
Oh, and Fiance's father is deceased, though his step-father (he calls the step his 'alt-dad', since Fiance's mom remarried when Fiance was a grown man, only a few years ago, actually) is still alive and well.

I live just minutes from my mom, and my dad is about a 3 1/2 hour to 4 hour drive depending on doggy potty breaks!
FH's parents passed away, but we still go to the cemetery to see them, and it's about an hours drive.

My parents moved about 1 1/2 years ago to Iron River, MI which is about 5 1/2 hours from here. We vacationed all the time near there growing up, so the drive is no big deal to us. Until then, they were living in my childhood home about 20 minutes from me.
I miss having them close, but it makes our visits that much more great to see them for longer periods of time. Plus, we make more time for each other when we do see each other because we miss each other. After I moved out, I didn't see them as much as I do now because of busy schedules and such.
