As many of you know, my wedding is December 30th. I was thinking it would work out fine if Justin and I went next month to pick out tuxedos. Then we would give the guys a deadline of 1 month to go in, pay, and get sized. That would mean the order would get placed in October, two months before the wedding. I used to work at a store that did rentals and I think we prefered doing orders for weddings or during prom time to be done in a couple of months in advance. Do you guys think my timing plan is going to work well?

Just call the store and ask how they do things. I know our wedding was the last week of prom season so they needed the guys measurements 6 weeks in advance as opposed to 4.

Our wedding fell in prom season as well. We had to have all the final mesurments in 2 weeks before the wedding. With your wedding being so close to christmas you might want to book it earlier. Lacey is right though. Call or stop in and find out when they need to book by.

I have asked this question at lots of bridal shops and they all told me to come in 8 weeks before the wedding to insure that the guys will have there tuxes

Our wedding is not around anything, except for Labor Day, which really isn't a big deal, so our measurements had to be in about 3-4 weeks before. We actually just got them in a few days ago, and we have 21 days until our wedding.

When you go in to pick them out, ask when the rest of the guys need to be measured by.

We went only about 4 weeks before the wedding, and the last of the guys got measured only about 2 weeks before. But, ours was not near prom or other heavy tuxedo wear events, so the place was not too busy, other than some weddings. Definitely, with christmas and new years, they'll probably be busier. I think your best bet would be to call the place you want to get them from soon and find out what they think would be the best timeline for them.
