aahh I can't believe they are six months old. In part it is exciting because they are doing so many new things, on the other hand I miss my tiny babies :-(. I look at pictures of how small they were and I can't even imagine it, yet it was only 6 months ago.

Anyways, they are both doing great. Mackenzie is 15lb 3oz (57%), 26 inches long (61%), with a head that is still in 99%. Logan, my little guy, is 15lb 5oz (14%), also 26 inches (36%), and a head in the 88%. His head has really jumped up, last time it was like in the 55% or something. His head doesn't look that big to me. This is the farthest they have been apart for weight. And ahh 4 more inches and they will need new car seats, Mackenzie has grown 1/2 an inch in like a week and a half.

Both are doing great as far as milestones go, they roll both ways, can almost sit up by themselves, pick up things, can pass things from hand to hand. They are doing great with solids as well. Speaking of picking up things, Logan took Mackenzie's binky right out of her mouth earlier then rolled away (she can't roll nearly as good as him).

only bad thing is Logan may have eczema. He is broken out pretty bad, I thought it was a drool rash, but today it has spread and is all over. It could be a yeast rash too though. Well Dr. said it could be eczema but he would have scaly patches in the creases on his arms and legs. We get home and he had scaly patches in the creases on his arms.. I got him some hydrocordisone cream and hopefully that clears it up.

on another bad note, my in laws in still driving me nuts. And I think my SILs excessive use of perfume is what made Logan's rash worse. My MIL tried telling me babies/kids had to be rear facing until they are 4 last night, I have no clue where she is getting her info. I did finally stand up for myself though, she wanted Mackenzie and I had her (I had been at work/school all day and just got home), I told her no I have her. She looked at me in shock haha.

Glad to hear they are doing well! Was the doctor okay with Mckenzie's head growth?

Sorry about the in-laws...but yay for standing up for yourself! Sometimes my MIL will come over after work, which is usually right around the same time I get home, and Zach always wants me. I used to feel guilty, but I'm his mother and its natural that he wants me, and that's okay. I don't feel guilty anymore lol.

I know the in law thing probably sounded bad on my part, but it is the way my MIL goes about it. She doesn't ask if she can hold the baby (if I am currently holding one of them), she talks out loud like ok Im going to hold him/her now (usually from the other room etc), and just comes up and takes him/her from me. My husbands grandma is getting just as bad, saying ok give him to me, come to grandma etc. And I don't like giving them to her because they are getting to heavy for her, she struggles to hold them, and they are wiggly. Then if it is getting close to bed time she tries almost everything she can to keep them up so I don't put them to bed, it drives me insane.

I can't believe that they are 6 months already! It feels like it has just flown by! It is so good to hear that they are doing great and reaching their milestones!

Poor Logan! My cousin used to have eczema, and it just looks so painful. Hopefully it clears up and never comes back!

Good for you for standing up to your in-laws. I think that it is great that you are making sure that you are getting your time with them!

Many of us understand the relationship between having a child and having in laws!! Just think, one day we'll be the in laws! Ahh!

I can't believe that our kiddos are growing so much, so fast. It really amazes me!

Haha, I love the twin threads. I stalk you guys!
Your babies don't sound that far apart in weight.
But I know how a few ounces makes all the difference.

I can't wait until my girls are old enough to roll around
and be fun. They coo and grasp fingers but that's about
it.

I guess now it's recommended that a child remain rear-
facing up to 40 lbs as long as the top of the car seat
is not touching the seat in front of it. At Babies R Us,
the salesman was required to give me to lowdown on
the convertibles we bought because our girls are only
6lbs. Our twins do not like the Graco infant carriers.

I'm glad everything is going so well Sarah! I understand the in-law thing too. Once you have kids, the grandparents can just drive a person batty at times!

we have been looking at convertible car seats too, only because 4 more inches and they will outgrow their infant seats.

Mackenzie has a tooth!! well it barely poking out of her gums, doesn't seem to bother her.

I really should just start a journal, but I don't want it to place to complain about in laws. I notice my mil mother doing the same thing to her still now, so I see where she gets it from. Her mother is always nagging at her about don't hold them like that, do this, don't do that. Its very annoying. Then mil turns around and sort of does it to me, but more in a I saw this on tv, I read this, do this, do that (which most of what she says is wrong). The mil mother keeps calling Mackenzie fat, which she isn't at all. ugh. I guess I am sort of resentful because we hardly spend any time with my family, just because we spend so much time with his and I do want some alone time.
