I want to buy a new digital camera. Mine is falling apart. I'd really like a new one in time for the Honeymoon.
I want to buy a nice Digital Camera. I'd love a Digital SLR, but we don't have that kind of money. I am thinking of financing through Amazon. I'd like to keep it between $150-200 (unless you guys know of a nice one under $120!).
I am thinking about a Nikon Coolpix, maybe this one:

But really, I have no idea! Any help, advice or tips would be appreciated!

I have a DSLR, so I don't know much about smaller cameras, but my bff has this one http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sd1300_is
I know it has most of the features as my big one does and she LOVES it. It also allows you to change a picture from color to b&w or sepia on the camera itself.

I have a Canon dSLR and a Canon point and shoot (several years old now), and I think I would only buy Canon from now on as I've been more happy with my Canons than my Sonys or the Nikon I had. But I guess that's just my preference. You can get some crazy good features now for $150.
http://www.dpreview.com is a great resource for reviews, buying guides, comparisons, etc. For instance, here's the feature search: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp
Any camera now is probably going to be 12 megapixels which is high resolution so not much to compare there. I think important features are higher optical (not digital) zoom, startup speed, how fast the flash recovers, and maybe image stabilization. I also like more manual control of my camera such as aperture or shutter speed priority, but those are just my needs. I don't really use the set modes or specific features, but they have pretty cool ones now, like modes for underwater, animals, food, fireworks, portraits in the dark, and more.

Okay. I am between these 2:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+PowerShot+14.1-Megapixel+Digital+Camera+-+Black/9766919.p?id=1218170030335&skuId=9766919

Or the one I saw on Amazon. These 2 are both at Best Buy and can go on our Best Buy Card which is interest free for a while. This is a nice option because of the wedding. I don't want to be shelling out almost $250 right now on a camera when we have wedding bills to pay. However, I really need a new one before the Honeymoon and wedding stuff. I want quality pictures of this important time in our lives!!
Any opinions on either of the 3 cameras?

I'm pretty sure I have that exact Canon camera you linked; if not the exact, then one down from it. And I love it! The only brand I would buy is a Canon now. I had a Canon before my current one that lasted me forever, and still works actually. The one I have now is small, light, but still takes great pictures. I took a bunch of pictures at concerts last summer with it, and they all turned out good. Even if I was a ways away from the stage, like in lawn seating.

Ended up going with this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-P100-Vibration-Reduction-Black/dp/B0034XFG86/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1300640714&sr=1-1
Got it on sale at Best Buy for $240. Interest free for 6 months. :) Got a nice case to go with it, too. Now time to charge the battery and take some pictures!!

Cool - I missed this thread until you'd already boughten one.
But I too have a Canon Powershot (different from the 2 posted) and love it.
I hope you love your camera and get amazing pics on your honeymoon.

I need to school myself in photography! I loved my photography class back in High School, but I've forgotten all about aperture and shutter speed settings! This camera is very manual, and I like that. It's a perfect gateway to a DSLR. I am going to have fun with it. :)
Here are some shots.
The camera:

Definitely need to work on settings here! I am so out of practice and bathrooms are tough.

I like the clarity of this! I zoomed in a lot!
