I found this website I need to special order my dress according to my measurements. Its says it takes 6 to 8 weeks to recieve it. I really love the dress, but am I doing the right thing by getting the dress online?
Has anyone bought their dress online?

All I can say is that I wouldn't do it. Some things just look different on-line. I would defiantely want to see it in person before spending that kind of money.
If you do decide on purchasing on-line I would make sure the site is a secured site. I would also check on return policies, shipping insurance, and I would see if I could find any customer feed back. Do not rely on just the customer feed back on their site because they are probably not going to put something negative on their site.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think you can find great deals online sometimes! I would just research the company and make sure they are a reputable business and check out their return policy. If all that checks out, then just give yourself plenty of time for possible delays in shipping, damage, size problems (like if they sent the wrong size to you) and of coarse alterations and such.
:goodluck:

I worked shortly for a online prom, bridesmaid & mother of the bride dress web site. It was my first experience with online selling and I was amazed that people would buy something online worth more than $10 (nevermind buying clothing without trying it on first) but they did and it was perfectly safe (at least it was with the company I was working for).
I would advise you to buy early. In the event that it's not what you thought it was going to be, or it doesn't fit, you will need time to send it back and have a replacement sent.
Measure yourself & order according to their measurement charts. You can also ask for a fabric swatch to be mailed to you if you are wondering about colour.
Call the company directly, if you are worried about placing an order online or if you aren't quite sure how to do it. So many girls (mostly the young ones) thought they were placing an order but we never received ithe order and this was because they didn't follow the shopping procedures through to the end.
If you have ordered correctly, you will receive an email after the transaction is complete. Needless to say, these girls were very angry with us when they called only to find out that we hadn't shipped them a dress.
Make sure you do your homework. Read the FAQ's, the return policy, etc. before ordering anything.

I ordered my dress online and I was satisfied with how it went. I did hit two snags, but I ordered the dress so far in advance that it didn't really matter.
Make sure you read their return policy. Where I ordered mine gave a three day return period after you received the dress, so you had to try it on and make a decision quickly.
Also, don't try to measure yourself. Go to an seamstress and get your measurements to make sure they're correct.

I bought mine online and had a wonderful experience. Just have a seamstress take your measurements, don't try to do it yourself. Research the company as much as you can and read their return policy carefully.

I almost bought my dress online, then decided I would be hysterical if something went wrong, so I went to a local bridal shop in my town. I found a cheaper dress,a nd it was exactly what I wanted.
