So I have had some off and on pain in my right hand for years. I broke my wrist when I was young, so I have always blamed it on that.

It seems to flare up when I use my hands more, but typing doesn't seem to bother me ...

Back in the day when I use to wait tables it would bug me a lot. I use to wear a brace and do rubber band exercises that seemed to help.

It bugs me when I try to open jars a lot too.

More recently it has been bothering me more; I am guessing from the bow making thing. But then I don't really do that everyday and it doesn't really hurt during it.

I can't do push ups (not that I could really do them before ;)) or anything where I put pressure on my hand/wrist without some pain.

Sometimes I can feel my wrist pop when I move it a certain way too. It doesn't affect the pain, just seems weird; the left one doesn't do that,

The pain is mostly on the palm side of my wrist close to my thumb. But sometimes it will radiate through my hand too. And if I turn my hand too far to the side it will hurt on my pinkie side too. Most of the time it is kind of a dull pain, but sometimes it is sharp and shooting, but that isn't all the time and it doesn't last long.

I am trying to figure out if I have some sort of pinched nerve, maybe arthritis, or carpel tunnel syndrome or what.

I keep trying to do hand exercises, but I am not sure if it really helps.

I guess I will have to break down and see a Dr if it keeps up.

Anyone else ever dealt with anything like this?

I get pain on the top of my hands, I always kind of thought it was nerve endings, but who knows.

I also have really weak wrists, which I was told when I was younger that I would always have.

I know I'm not much help, but I hope it feels better soon.

Hmmm. I have no advice. :( Every so often I get that pain, but I blame it on typing too much. It's not a constant thing.

Hope you get it figured out soon!!

I hope it feels better. :( Hopefully not carpel tunnel! My friend is going through that right now. She can't feel her last like three fingers. o.o; Please go to the doctor if it gets worse!

On the other hand, i've also gotten this in my ankles.. I've been good at spraining/pulling/tearing muscles in them so er.. Yeah. Some times they ache. You are not alone in the broken department. lol

It sounds like you might have Carpel Tunnel, bone fractures/breaks are often associated with carpel tunnel syndrome The median nerve in your wrist provides feeling and movement to the "thumb side" of the hand (the palm, thumb, index finger, middle finger, and thumb side of the ring finger). The area in your wrist where the nerve enters the hand is called the carpal tunnel. This tunnel is normally narrow, so any swelling can pinch the nerve and cause pain, numbness, tingling or weakness.

These are the test that we do at work...

Numbness in the palm, thumb, index finger, middle finger, and thumb side of the ring finger

Weak hand grip

Tapping over the median nerve at the wrist may cause pain to shoot from the wrist to the hand

Bending the wrist forward all the way for 60 seconds will usually result in numbness, tingling, or weakness

It is good that you are going to the doctor to get this checked out becuase you don't want it to get worse. It can actually cause permanent weakness.

Sometimes you can use ice massage on the area, and do gradual stretching to help relieve the symptoms.

I want to look up more about the treatment options. I really would rather not have the surgery.

I feel most doctors try to avoid surgery, so they'd probably give you exercises and stuff.

Yup! My Mom had a pretty bad case of it. They gave her a brace and some exercises and it went away within a couple weeks!
