I am so excited!! On Friday Clayton & I are going to pick up our new pup!! We are getting a min pin. They are sooo cute, I cant wait!!!

Ok, it's Saturday, did you get the puppy yesterday? Do you have pics to share yet?

We have the puppy!! He is a little boy miniature pinscher, and we named him Duke. He is the cutest thing ever!!!! He has been really skittish around us all weekend. We dont know if the place we got him from might have been a puppy mill or if they just dont interact with their dogs that much. Anyway, tonight he was soooo much better. He would follow Clayton & I around and would come when we called. Before he would stay in his little area and retreat to the corner if either one of us went near:bbeek: I dont have a digital camera, but I will be taking pictures soon and posting them for you to see!!!

He sounds cute! Just be patient and calm around him. It already sounds like he is coming out of his shell a little though! Congrats on the new "baby"!

Congrats on Duke!

Even if he came from a reputable breeder it may take some time for him to come out of his shell. When we got our dog, it took him months to not freak when DH came around. He took to me right away though ;) Now that we have the little one, she loves both of us. But they both are shy around strangers.

Anyway, congrats again! Can't wait to see some pictures of the little guy :bbmrgreen: You should put him on Dogster.com too ;)

No, not yet. My camera is broken. I think I may just have to ask Clayton to pick up a disposable tomorrow so that I can at least get some pictures!!!

BTW, he is doing SOOO much better. He is still really nervous and scared around people he doesnt know, but with Clayton & I he is completely different.

We've had our oldest dog for about 6 mos and he is still shy around strangers and has just recently started being better around DH. The little one is also shy around strangers, even more so than the other, but she is still a baby so I hope she will grow out of it.

Anyway, glad your little guy is doing better, can't wait to see pictures :D

I am so happy for you! You will love him! They are intelligent, and LOVE to burrow, get him a blanket for sleeping and naps and he will cover head to toe! My parents breed min pins. they are very good animals especially if you plan to have children, however when and if they ever get pregnant, they can be a bit mean, so keep that in mind.

I got charlie in 2004 as a christmas gift, she fit in the pocket of my tshirt! I loved that little thing!
