Starting planning early, but what the heck! ;)

My DH and I got married on June 14th 2006, so for many I'm sure the 8 year anniversary for a renewal might sound a bit random. But we're currently living apart as I'm overseas studying and I graduate about a month or so before our 8th anniversary, which also means we'll have lived half our marriage apart.
So I suggested to DH that vow renewals would be a cool idea, which he agreed with
So we get to celebrate our 11th dating anniversary and 8th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows and moving back in together right before or shortly after :D

While our wedding was wonderful, there where many things that we planned for that didn't happen, so I guess that's what I want the most this time around. That we have a wedding more like we plan and imagine :)

Right now I'm struggling with deciding if I think it would be the most fun to just go away the two of us and renew our vows, just the two of us, or if we should make more of a family ordeal out of it.
For the swooning romantic in me, I gotta admit I sorta like the idea of going off to some wonderful place and renewing our vows alone on the beach or a mountain or something like that. :soppy:

Yay for starting a journal!! I love your reasoning for having it on your 8th anniversary. :) I can't wait to hear all about what you decide and your planning along the way! :)

Thanks! :)

I had so much fun planning our wedding, so I'm sure I'll have a ton of fun now too :D

Okay, apparently what I needed to do to get my wheels churning for renewal ideas was to create a journal. :eureka:

I've been looking at rings today and I like these. I actually drooled a lot over the option for me back when we got married too, so I'm thinking it might be a winner since I still love it. haha

For me:

For him:

I think they compliment each other fairly well, while at the same time being styles both me and DH would love :)

The rings are very pretty! A vow renewal sounds like a great way to rekindle the marriage! Congrats!

Thanks everybody :D

After having chatted a bit with hubby, odds are that we'll go with this ring for him instead: (Ya know, providing we can still get it when we get closer to our renewal)

It doesn't match quite as much with mine, but it's totally him. He's born in the year of the dragon and fits the description pretty well. :p

I've also seen a couple of dresses I really like, but I don't know if it's even a point to post them - odds are that they will have been removed from the lines by the time we get around to things.

Okay, I said I didn't see quite a point in posting dresses yet, since odds are that they won't be available when we get around to our renewal - but oh well, I love these so I'll post them anyway :D

I really, really love this one.
It's gorgeous, it has red in it which I like as my wedding dress had that too. And also roses, yay! If you can't tell, my favorite flower is roses ;)

I love this red one:
Red is my favorite color and since I should be by my goal weight before the end of the year, much less by the time we get to the renewal, I think I'd rock this dress too:

I love gowns either with a bit of color in them or colored all together. I guess where we decide to renew our vows would highly influence what sort of gown would fit best though.
