View Full Version : Horrible pelvic pain

For the past 45 minutes, I feel like the baby is throwing their little fists into my lower abdomen and pelvic area. It's such a sharp pain, almost unbearable and I can feel the baby moving, it seems. It's different than the other pelvic pain I've been getting the past three weeks (the kind where I can't get up out of bed, or turn over).
They don't feel like contractions because they can't really be timed. They do stop every so often and then come right back but there's no tightening with them.
What do you ladies think?

I just saw you on-line and was wondering if you were still pregnant...
Sorry to hear you're having pain. :flower: Good luck honey!

Maybe the baby is moving down and getting ready? Or is she/he already down?
Does it feel like the baby is pushing on your rectum? That sounds like labor is ON ITS WAY:yesnod:

It could very well be your cervix starting to open with pressure from the baby's head. My guess is you'll lose your mucus plug very soon! :crossfingers::crossfingers:

I hope the baby moves quickly now. My blood pressure is rising and my midwife is getting nervous. They're going to check my BP on Monday. If it's high, they're going to evaluate it further and possibly induce. I'd like to avoid a medical induction. Keep the baby and me in your prayers, ladies, if you can. I know I have to do what's safest for the baby and I but I'd love to go into labor spontaneously.
I'm going to the grocery store to buy some healthy food that lowers blood pressure. I've also been listening to some guided relaxation that's supposed to help hypertension. Here's hoping my efforts work!
Don't make note of this on Facebook, please, thanks. :)

OHH wow!! I didnt know you were so close...well overdue really! Hope that little baby decides to come soon!! We dont know what you are having yet do we?
I will surely pray for you guys. I desperately did not want to be induced either, probably for the same reasons as you, so I do understand you wanting to avoid that. I hope that your blood pressure decreases and your LO comes out on his/her terms.

No. Rick and I are team green! :)
Well, I bought a bunch of fruit, yogurt and almonds. A lot of fresh food so the sodium isn't too high. I ate some of the fruit last night, made a healthy dinner and soaked my feet in that foot spa that everyone gets as a wedding gift but only uses a few times, if at all. That felt nice. I elevated my feet last night and woke up every two hours to pee. I never wake up in the middle of night, pregnant or not. I'm guessing it was my body losing all that fluid because for the first time in two days, I can see and feel my ankles. I hope this is a good sign.

OMG Sarah, I can't believe you're still pregnant!!! You've been trying EVERYTHING....
Still praying for no medical induction!

Will your midwife strip your membranes? If you are dilated at all that can really get things moving without needing an actual induction. It's not comfortable (I just read a description of it - like your doctor is rooting around in your purse for her keys - LOL), but at least it's over quickly and could get things started! Good luck Sarah!

Thanks guys. :)
The midwife tried to strip my membranes but my cervix was too high, it was hard for her to reach. She said I was probably 1-2cm dilated though. I was very soft, apparently.
I really hope the baby comes tonight.

BTW, you're going to LOVE being team green when the baby comes!!!
We were team green too and I'll NEVER forget that moment when they announced "It's a girl"....OMG, I still get goosebumps just thinking about it :)

Thanks everyone!!
We're so excited to find out the gender. It's so much fun not knowing!!
Well, I checked my BP at Wal*Mart tonight.
It was 139/81. Thirty minutes later, after shopping around, it was 129/74.
I'm going tomorrow to check it again at the midwife office. Hopefully it stays the same! Oh and my ankles never swelled up again. :)

8lbs 4oz, 20 1/2 inches.
I did it without any medication, all thanks to Hypnobirthing. Labor lasted 21 hours long. It was amazing.
He looks just like his father.
