I was fired once when I was 17 years old. It was only a phone solicitor job.

LOL yep and I blame it on the education system!

I worked for McDonalds first ... not a problem. A customer orders, you punch buttons, customer hands you cash, you enter the amount in the register and voila, the register tells you how much change to give!

My second job was for a deli/bakery. They didn't have an electronic cash register and no one had ever shown me how to count up. Now I am not all that good at Math to begin with but I didn't want to whip out a piece of paper on my first day to do the ciphering LOL so, I stood there looking like an idiot, trying to subtract in my head while the customer and boss looked on.

She told me after I came back from lunch that she didn't think it would "work out" and she decided not to keep me on. When I came home and told my dad how stupid I felt, he sat me down and showed me what they should have taught us in school! It took all of 5 minutes to learn.

I also worked for a design studio when I was fresh out of college. I was doing paste up and dark room work. Newbies don't get to design anything.

One day my boss invites me out for coffee and tells me that he's letting me go because I am not "ethnic" enough (his words honest!). He told me that I had to struggle for my art more to be a good designer. I only wish that young naive white anglo saxon female, living with her parents in middle class suburbs had have known about the labour board and suing back then!!!!!!

I was 16 and worked with my sister at a pizza place, We were arguing as usual and I was on the phone with a customer and she pushes me and she knew because I was on the phone I could not do anything about it, so when I got off I hit her back. Well our boss only saw that part and said Jeni your fired, I was like why I am was just hitting her back, but that was a job I was fired from and returned too over a 10 year period about 5 times LOL. It was the most fun job I ever had.

I was fired from a job about 11 years ago. I had taken a new job as a Respiratory Therapist about an hour drive from home. They called me (a friend told them I might want to switch hospitals) and offered me a position with them. I had just recently divorced and was not making that much money at the one I was working at. Also was still taking a correspondence course in which I had to pay for to finish and get my license for therapy. They offered to pay the rest of my school and give me $5.00 more an hour. Place me on day shift and only work Monday thru Fridays. It was much better (even considering the drive) than what I was making where I was at. So I accepted the offer. After working there for only 3 days they placed me on night shifts and working every other weekend. They told me they had another therapist quit and that I would only be doing this for about 2 weeks till they could replace them. They also told me that since I have never worked nights and such that I could sleep at night and wake to do rounds. They provided me with a cot and pillow. So this was allright for a time. It rocked on and about after a month I asked when I was going to be placed back onto day shift and when my contract would be ready for signing for the offer of the tuition to be paid. They brought me a blank contract with no $ amount and no time limit filled in as to how long I would have to work for them to pay it back. I refused to sign it. They continued to say that they could not find a replacement either. At the end of the 3 month trial period I still had no contract (they had made not one payment) and was still working night shift. :censored: The day after my 3 months was up they called me into the office and told me I was fired for sleeping on the job. :censored: Yet they had told me this was fine and supplied me with the items needed for doing so. i had never slept through rounds or any emergency that came in. I was stunned. I had to fight to get my unemployment since i was fired from the job. And it took me over a year to find another one in the area I lived in. Thus causing me to loose the time I had spent in school and the money I had spent as well. If not employed in the therapy field I could not continue my schooling. I have never been so angry or upset over a job in my life.

When I was a freshamn in college I worked for about 4 evening as a telemarketer. When peopl esaid they weren't interested I said, "Ok, have a good evening." Since I wasn't willing to talk over people and be pushy to swindle little old ladies into buy :censored: they let me go because I wasn't making the numbers! Good!

I was fired from the mortgage company where I met FH...but that was after he had already left. What happened was that I was taking a class in college where they prepared you for their co-op program. In teh class you have to do a bunch of different projects..and one of those is to complete a resume, a CV, and a cover letter. You have to choose an organization and apply for a position that interets you (in your field of study) and utilize what tehy teach you through the process. Well...I shared an office with the owner's grandson and we were friends. He used the computer quite often to search for anotehr job/post his resume, etc. Well, told me that it was fine for me to email my resume/CV/cover letter to my professor, and then later in teh week his father, who was our supervisor fired me, because he said that I was using company resources to seek other employement...adn would not even let me explain!!! I was so distraught. They paid me unemployementa dn listed as though I was layed-off, since I was friends with the 3 of the grandchildren...but it was till BS. To top it off...they had me train my own replacement before they fired me and told me that he was just an addition...lol!!!!

Technically yes ... my first job, well I had two at the time, I was 'let go' from both on the same day. One place said it was because I was going back to school and my availability was changing (it was a pet store and I had sold a pregnant mouse and left the lid off the salt water fish tank *in the same week*, so I think that was the real reason) the other said it was because business was slow. (they closed about a month later so I guess he was telling the truth)

I was fired at 16 when I was a weekend manager of a Video Store. I'd been hired as a simple stocker, then got promoted to manager. Well, I worked the Friday night, Sat and Sun day shifts. On Friday nights, my sister's then byfnd (now husband) would come with my mom to pick me up and they would sit in the store while I did the banking and stuff. Well, unbeknownst to me, my BiL was stealing video games when my back was turned. Needless to say, I ended up getting fired over it. No real loss, I hated my boss anyway!!:D

I was recently 'let go'. But they totally set me up for failure. Who gives a new designer fresh from school 2 major papers and lets the editors dick arround and not get their **** in on time. Surprise surprise i fell behind.
Their loss. I've gotten some good freelance going and such. Working from home for myself is better.

I worked for a dentist and his wife was the office manager, the old man was a pervert and he put his hand where it didn't belong and made some comments. The old hag got mad at ME (couldn't afford to lose that big Lincoln and all that money to get pissed at him) and I was fired..
