We're newly engaged and planning a Christmas wedding for December 23, 2011. We have our ceremony/reception site booked. It's an old post office (around the early 1900s) building in our hometown that the Women's Club uses. We want a Christmas themed wedding, just without any Santas or snowmen involved. The colors are green, silver, and red with some gold accents as well. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for decorations, centerpieces, etc. Thanks!

First off, welcome to OW!
You could do small wreaths on the tables with a large candle in the middle as a centerpiece.
Swags of greenery and lights make nice decorations too.

My mother and I went to Walmart today to get decorations on half-price...ended up with 120 feet of garland, 192 red/silver ornaments, 84 bells, and some candles. I like the idea about using wreaths, sounds cute! Thanks!

Something like this for centerpieces immediately springs to my mind:

Maybe alternate with wreaths? I think you can have a LOT of fun with this theme and not make it Santa-y or anything. :)

Festivities and fun of the Christmas holidays certainly make it the most romantic time of the year to get married. The bonus is that you may even get already decorated wedding halls and churches where you can host your guests.

It sounds great! As you want to have a Christmas Wedding, I think the Santas and Christmas tree are necessary, and then hang some gifts on the tree.
