Ohhhh I am going to get hated for this one... but... No, I would not vote for a woman. I have been told that I am sexist against women because of this but, I'm really not.
My reasoning is because being President is a tough job and women tend to think emotionally and I think that wouldn't be too great in certain situations. Men tend not to think emotionally and I think that's just better for certain situations.
I may reconsider if there was a woman who I thought would be kind of a "hard ***."

I have to agree with Ally--- Sorry :) I too may be a sexist against women :)
I feel the same way she does. Emotionally and I wonder how serious other countries would take us.
I DO have to say though, that I REALLY like Rice, and even though she said she wouldn't run, if she was the only republican canidate (if we put up Rice, they would have to put up Hilary) so instead of not voting, I would vote Rice.

Of course. We had a lady prime minister for a time. She was elected head of the Conservative party and replaced an outgoing PM however, she didn't win the people's vote come election time (3 months later).

100% absolutely a woman could do the job and probably do it better. I would vote for Seantor Clinton. I love the idea of nationalized healthcare (which I think will be her running platform should she go for it in 2008 ar 2012). I wouldn't however vote for Secretary Rice because I have no trust, faith, or respect for the administration that she serves. But, should another candidate stop up to the podium and declare her intents, I would analyze and listen then make my choice from there.
For the women out there who said that they wouldn't vote because it is a man's job I want to ask you this. In 10 years when you daughters come home and say, "Mom, I want to be Presidnet." Is your response going to be, "No, Sweetie, you are a girl. Being President is a job for boys. Go play with your Easy Bake Oven and dolls?"

I agree, Lacey, I think a woman can do it, and probably do it better than a man. And I believe females have every right to aspire to be the President of the United States. And going one step more, I really believe it's time for someone other than a white man to be President of our United States of America. We are a diverse country, let's show it in our leadership!! Geez!!

I would vote for a woman...but definitely nor Condolezza Rice. I do not care for her in general and like Lacey said...I do not have any trust or faith in the administration that she has served under. I also do not think I would vote for Senator Hilary Clinton. I do not feel that she would do a very effective job and believe that she would get ran over by teh rest of the Democratic Party and would only be the mouthpiece for them. If a woman ran that I truly believed was right for te job though...I would definitely vote for her!!! I tend to vote Democratic though, so if it were between Ms. Rice and Mrs. Clinton I would have to say Clinton!!!

I would vote for a woman, not just because of that, but if I felt she was the better of those that were running.

I love how you put it!
I also think that a woman could do that job just as well, if not better than a man. There have been a number of women leaders in other countries around the world and they tended more fair, level headed and honest then male counterparts. Not to mention those countries were not perceived any differently by the rest of the world.

Well I never said that a women COULDNT do the job. I said that women tend to think more with emotions then men do. Just because I am a female does not mean that I have to be a feminist. That's just not me.
I think men have been doing fine jobs for the past 217 years. But as I said before, if the right woman came along and I felt she was right for the job, I would vote for her. I would NEVER I mean NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton. I wouldn't take a million dollars if offered to vote for her. I wouldn't vote for Rice either.
Oh and if my daughter came home and said she wanted to be President, I would tell her to pick another profession not because she is a female, but because I personally think it's the worst job you can have. Who wants to be ridiculed and poked fun at and blamed for every wrong thing that happens from a plane crashing to a dog crapping on new carpet? I surely wouldn't want to.

I have another thing to say that I have said for some time. Take a look at the world. Take a look at all the fighting and starving people and general screwed up world we live in. Take a look at the leaders. Most of them are men. They have been messing this world up for thousands of years. Why not let the women take control and see what we can do. We defiantely could not do it any worse than they have.

I would 100% vote for a woman if she was the right person. I see not one problem with a woman running this country. Anything boys can do, girls can do better. LOL.
