For the last few years, I have had pretty bad bags under my eyes. Everytime I ask people they tell me tht I "need sleep". I, however, feel that I get plenty of sleep. I was reading about them and they say other things cause them such as stress and genetics. I am not THAT stressed and I dn't tink it's genetics because no one else in my family as them,
The one thing that I read that causes them is lack of water...hydration level. After reading that, maybe that is my problem. I do barely drink. I make people nervous (especially in the summer). I drink about 20 oz of coffee a day but when it comes to water/iced tea/juice....maybe 8 oz....sometimes less:(

I know this is not healthy and I need to change that. Does ayone have any suggestons for making tem go away? NOT COVERING THEM UP. I want them gone when I'm not wearin mke=up too.

Or, is there anything else that any of you have read that can cause them?

Thank you!

well just an FYI caffeine actually DEHYDRATES you... so your drinking all this coffee and iced tea and it's having the opposite effect of the little water your drinking...

now this is gonna sound contrary to what i've just said but have you tried those eye roller things for dark bags n circles... those actually have some cooling stuff in it plus a lil caffeine (the counter intuitive part LOL) and the caffeine acts to close up any leaky blood vessels and sorta pull away and excess fluid from the area...

while i don't have dark bags i get bad bags under my eyes and i keep one around for those purposes... i like the garnier brand but the only other brand ive tried is mary kay and it smells funny...

I know that caffiene dehydrates....I need my coffee though LOL. I tried one of those eye rollers, I think it was revlon...but after 2 weeks I didn't notice anything, then stopped. I know, I probably should have given it more of a chance.
Thank you so much for the advice...do you know which of the roller things might be the best?

Thanks again!

I know you said you use garnier, just didn't know if there were other things. I actually have this cream by AVON I just started using

I've heard the same about Preparation H! Worth a shot.

I will say, I had HORRIBLE dark bags under my eyes. I'm only 21! It was bad. However, once I started drinking my water (I drink at least 80 oz a day now!) they went away. I know that seems like a lot, but you can work your way up to it. Find a cute re-fallible bottle you don't mind sporting. I tend to drink the most during work to keep myself busy I guess.

A way to get up the water intake is to use Crystal Light packets and other similar things like that. Decaff tea is another good way to up the water count.

PS: I still drink 12 oz of coffee a day, and about 6oz of caffeinated tea a few days a week (at least).

I have an on and off addiction issue with caffiene, and I can tell you that when it's really bad (like right now...) and I'm not drinking enough water... I look like heck.

To get your water up, I find it's helpful if I put a glass of water or juice in between the cups of coffee. It's fall, hot cider is fantastic. It's the cheapest, most effective thing. Also, a high water intake helps your body cleanse itself and it makes your skin softer (and for me, decreases acne... it's always at its worse when I'm dehydrated). So yeah, here's to H2O ;)

Thank you all so much!
80 oz of water? wow! lol. I actually drank about 24 oz yesterday (which actually is a lot for me)...hopefully the water thing does the trick for me as well:)

i drink like 3 bottles of water a day and still have dark circles and bags. one thing i found that helps with bags is putting an ice pack on each eye a couple minutes each before your go to sleep. or you could even get one of those gel eye masks that can be put in the freezer.
