Has anyone here used a flea fogger/bomb? We want to set a couple off on Saturday, and we're kinda concerned. We're trying to figure out if we need to wash all of our clothes afterwards. Does it seem like that would be necessary? We're also trying to figure out what to do with the dishes... we might pack them up and put them in the garage.

Also, does anyone know about the effectiveness of the bombs? I've heard that they don't kill the eggs and other non-adult forms... I'm just worried that we'll put all this effort into the fogging and then still have a problem. Fortunately though, all our rooms are clean, so I can vaccuum constantly afterwards.

Any advice/wisdom? :)

I haven't used a bomb for flees, but we do use the foggers at work. (I live in AZ. we have tons of desert critters) I don't think you would have to worry about your clothes at all.

As far as the kitchen stuff goes, if you shut the cupboards they should be fine. I would just clean the counters and stuff really well after wards, as well as any areas you set food, cat dishes etc.

I know on some of them it tells you to turn off all ignition sources so if you have a gas stove you would shut off the pilot light. (We never did this) and depending on the size of your house you may have to use a couple of them.

I think you also have to keep the cats out of the house for like 6 to 8 hours? I would also check into the Arm & Hammer vacuum powder stuff, it has pretty good reviews and you basically sprinkle it on your carpet. let it sit for a bit then vacuum it up.

Also at the same time, you might want to give your cats some flea stuff. It may not get rid of all of them, but it will sure help.

Thanks! I thought it'd be ok to leave cupboards closed, but DH suddenly got worried about dishes... so I'll tell him we just need to do that. We're going to take the cats over to his parents' house and give them flea baths... they're gonna hate it, but it'll help them. I think the can says 2-3 hours that you let the fog do its work and then you go open all the windows to air the house out. So we'll have the cats at his parents house for a good part of the day... should be interesting since there will be four dogs there that day, too... hopefully we can find a place to keep the cats separate. Anyway, thanks again! :)
