How long did it take to get your pro pics back?

Alright.. so we are pushed 8 weeks since our wedding this Saturday. Our photographer has on her website that it take 2 weeks to get pictures back but I think that was before her business took off. One of her clients posted on her wall asking when she would be getting her pictures done and the photographer replied that it takes 4-8 weeks. She isn't printing any pictures for us, she is just editing them and putting them on a disk. Should it really take her longer than 8 weeks?? We are waiting to get them back so we can send out our thank-yous but it is taking a lot longer than we anticipated! I finally asked her and she said she would *try* to get started on them this week... and it will be worth the wait (It better be!).

How long did it take everyone to get their pictures back? And for the photographers out there... is it typical for it to take this long?

I think we got ours back in a week but she didn't do any photoshopping. It was pretty disappointing. I really hope you get yours back soon. 4-8 weeks seems a bit long to me!

I think ours took like 12 weeks. We got married the end of May and it was almost the end of August before we got our previews.

Well, even though I'm a new photographer IMO I don't think it should take that long. That's a long time considering all she's doing is editing.

When I did a wedding I had the photos edited in less than a week. One weekend though I had 2 session for a model and then an engagement session and it took me a little over a week to finish because I had a lot going on in school.

I guess it just depends on the photographer and how committed they are to getting the photos finished.

I'm the anxious type. I find myself staying up all night (like tonight) trying to finish a session just because I'm curious on how well they turned out.

I would just wait a couple of more days and tell her why you are needing them now and that on her website it says it only take 2 weeks.

We had our proofs in 8 weeks exactly.... we have yet to receive our CD of high-res fully edited pics... they're sending it w/our album tho and we just picked out the album stuff in like early august...

Editing takes a while to do, that's the hardest part. I'm worried that she said she was 'starting' the editing soon. If you are worried about your thank-you notes, I would ask her if there are a few pictures she can get to you asap.

She said when she starts editing she will put a few samples on Facebook... well she just uploaded 3 couples pictures onto Facebook and ours wasn't one of them. So I am assuming those couples had their weddings before us and she is just getting theirs done! Ughhhh.

[The Proper Wedding]

It took our photographer about a week to post all the pics onto his website for us to order. Our package comes with a small coffee table book of all photos taken. He gave us a phone call yesterday telling us that the photobook was ready. Our wedding was a week after yours I think.

BUT aside from photography, he's an art teacher (his main job). So he has a bit of time to do the editing from his desk at school here and there (depending on which art class he's teaching...many are independent classes where he's only there if the student needs help), which is probably why he got ours up on the website so fast.

I got my sneak peak photos back in less then a week. I should hopefully have my proof cd back in the next day or 2, but for sure less then 2 weeks. The high res cd could take longer since the edited photos will be on there.

My current Facebook status: We appreciate everyone who came to our wedding!!! Will we be sending our Thank-Yous out as soon as we get our pictures back so don't think we forgot about you!! ♥



Lol!! I am trying to drop little hint because I honestly think it is taking too long. I am sorry but she is a SAHM whose children are in school. I don't understand how she doesn't have time to finish them?! I mean... it has been over 8 weeks now and we haven't even got teasers! We took our engagement pictures with her and she had teasers up the same night!! :chair:

I agree, I think it is taking too long. We had our teasers about 5 days after the wedding and our disc and copyrights 6 days after, edited and all. I think that a few weeks is understandable, but 8 weeks + is getting to be kinda much! I hope you get them soon!

Wow, they must have been faster, or more eager or we lucked out and decided on a college student photographer. We had our pics back within two weeks - complete, and they were beautiful. -- of course that was 16 years ago!

Good news!!

She is finished! She will be sending them out either tomorrow or Thursday and we should have them by Saturday at the latest. That will put us at 9 weeks... it seriously took her 9 weeks to finish those pictures! They better be amazing!
