This contest is sponsored by our Oct-Dec 2010 Featured Vendor, ItsAllTakingShape.com (http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=34598)
So the contest will involve pumpkins; you can carve them, paint them or otherwise decorate them. Don't do pumpkins you say? OK, then do up some sort of Fall/Halloween theme centerpiece!
You must take pictures of your project before, during and after and post all 3 pictures here in this thread as your entry. *Please keep pictures around 500x700 pixels*
Your pumpkin/centerpiece can be big or small, funny or spooky, wedding related or not. And since you don't have to actually carve anything (though you can), you don't have to wait until Halloween to do it!
We will take entries now through Oct 31st, then we will vote for a winner. The winner will get a $50 store credit from ItsAllTakingShape.com!

Fun stuff! Let's all get our thinking caps on! Chad and I were just talking the other day about how we need to get to decorating for Fall. I remember doing the Fall contest last year right after I got out of the hospital with the kidney stones. I was pregnant with little Paisley and now she's a big nearly 6 month old. Woah. Sorry for the rambling....okay...thinking caps...on...now!!

Going out today to take a look at some supplies and ideas. :)
I'll definitely be doing something. I always have fun with these. We are still unpacking some boxes and all of our holiday things have been put off until last. So I'll do something in the next week or so!

I don't know if a carved pumpkin would last more than a week or so. I would probably wait until the end of the week or early next week for carving if you want it to last.
But you could paint one now :)

The 3 picture thing was to be clear that everyone did the project on their own. If the rest of the contest participants are ok with your entry and no one complains if you win then we can accept this.

Yes, I love Star Wars. I'll light up what I spent all of Saturday and some of Sunday on tonight, and if its decent enough, will post it here. I attempted the Death Star. :)
And ok on the contest. I'm not going to push one way or the other. Regardless, I had fun.
I DID have Darth Vader carved also, but I put the candle too close to the front of the pumpkin, and DIDN'T snap a picture (not sure what I was thinking), and by the next morning, I had melted Darth Vader's Face. Boooo.

Well I wasn't going to do anything special, but since I'm getting out of work early today for my RE appointment, I think I'll get carving! I LOVE to toast the pumpkin seeds, so that's really my inspiration! :yummy:

I finally got my pumpkin carved to add to my mantel decoration entry!! I was so mad...I sliced my thumb open on the very last cut, but it was so worth it for a little Paisley pumpkin! I had a hard time getting a good picture...I really need to learn how to use that camera!

Progress. I drew a rough sketch of the outline on and worked with a craft knife to cut the design without cutting all the way through the pumpkin for most of it.

Finished product. It's kind of hard to see, but there's Fall garland, lights, vase filled w/ red lentils, harvest angel, 2 bejeweled iron pumpkins, framed Halloween card, carved pumpkin, vase filled with kasha, and a Fall candleholder.

oooo, it looks great! I love candles too, unfortunately with three little kids in the house mine rarely get lit. Very pretty, I love fall!
How can you not love candles?? They're so pretty. I still don't know where most of ours are from our move! :bbconfused:
