So we got some gorgeous purple wax seals and we have the stamp for it, it's an "R". I absolutely love it and thought to use it to seal our wedding invites.. However I just realized I technically will still have my maiden name. Could I use it still BEFORE the wedding?? What the etiquette on this?? Do you think anyone would notice and say anything about it??
Thanks all!!

I say go for it. The invitation is the first step in the joining of you two as a couple - in all the R glory. ;)

I really like it too, I vote 'go for it'.
I think it would be perfectly fine!

I voted no. I think official etiquette says you're not supposed to use your new name in any way before the wedding. Though that brings up a whole bunch of questions about what about if you want a monogrammed this that or the other... I don't know. I don't think it's the end of the world if you do it, and I doubt anyone would notice or care. (I mean, I'm sure they'd care -- you know, I just mean that they wouldn't mind if you used it.) So I personally wouldn't do it, but I also wouldn't see a problem with it if someone else wanted to. It'd be lovely for your thank you notes instead of or in addition to invites :)

What about the monogram on the aisle runner?? I'm walking on it before I legally become Mrs. "R". Also we have the "R" monogram decals on the windows and what not.. Now I'm nervous..

Don't be nervous at all... using R is fine.... this is the celebration of you becoming mrs.R so do it up any way that makes you happy
if anyone poo poos it or turns up their nose, too bad for them

I think that you should use them for sure. If you re-read your first post, it shows you are in love with the idea and that is all that matters! ;)

Right--that's where I got confused in my other post. I had always heard you weren't supposed to use your married name/initial for anything, but I didn't think there was a problem with people having monogrammed stuff for the wedding. And I still don't think there is. Or maybe it's okay to use this stuff AT the wedding but not beforehand?? I don't really know for sure. It's your wedding though--so I say do whatever you want, and love it! :hearts:

I say if you love them, use them! I'm sure it'll look great, and I doubt people would say anything!

I say go for it. I took my DH's Surname by Deed Poll 5 years before we got Married. I had no qualms about being Mrs M before hand. Even though in law i wasn't his "Mrs".
If you love something then to heck with etiquette. Throw as many "R's" into the mix. Because that's what's coming out at the end. ;)
