We did the traditional registry. We just did it this weekend and it was FUN! We have lived together for a little over 3 years now and have most things, but we wanted new and upgraded stuff.

We did a (small) traditional registry. In my area cash gifts are the norm, so the registry was mostly for our OOT guests.

I guess ours was more traditional. There wasn't alot of regitry stuff that we neeed so we registerd at Macy's, Williams Sonoma, and Target for stuff that we wanted.

We didn't register for gifts. We really didn't 'need' anything. We tried to get ppl to give cash, but it didn't work ;)
We got a few gift cards, a few candles, a couple of shot glasses (we collect them) and some cash.

I will be doing the traditional registry. Probably at Kohls, JCPenny, and a couple other places

We really wrestled with this. We weren't going to register at all since we didn't think that we needed anything. But then our friends started giving us a hard time, saying that people are going to want to give gifts and we should point them in the right direction. (Apparently, telling them to donate to the Humane Society wasn't going to cut it.)
Then, we realized that I detest his dish set, and he really doesn't care for mine. And all of our linens are old and starting to look ratty. So I broke down and register for towels, sheets, duvet covers, pillows, and etc.. JCPenny and registered for our tableware and kitchen stuff at Crate and Barrel.
We're not expecting a lot of people to use them, but we'll get a discount on things we registered for after the wedding.
(And we'll still donate to the Humane Society as a gift to ourselves.)

I voted for traditional, but we already have most of everything, even duplicates since we're living together now. But we'll get register for better stuff and get rid of what we have. I might also register for some CDs that I want! lol.

We registered at Kohl's Target and Wal-Mart...those Wal-Mart gift cards came in handy when it was time to stock the house with groceries!

We didn't register and we didn't ask people to donate to our favourite charity because this world being as politically correct as it is, some people might take exception to one or more charities because of their political views (argh!)
So ........ we asked for no gifts and told them they could donate to the charity of their choice in our names, without obligation to do so.
