For those of you who live together and/or are already married who does the cleaning around the house? If you do not yet live with your FH who will do the cleaning?

Well for the most part, I'd say 98% of the time, I clean. I do not work and he does, so I do pretty much all the cleaning. Sometimes I get fustrated when he leaves his stuff laying around. It is kind of the same thing I did to my mom I guess. I guess I'm getting paid back. After I graduate and go to work I hope it can be more of a joint effort. Back when I had a job before we lived in an apartment and it was much smaller, but we both cleaned.

We both clean...but he does more of the day-to-day stuff than I do, such as laundry and loading the dishwasher!!

I don't trust Justin with the laundry. I don't let him get close to the laundry room unless he is just doing his own clothes. It could get scarey.

I clean. It's easier to just do it myself than to nag DH to do it! :bblol:

I put that he cleans becaue he does more then I do. He has a day off during the week without any kids at home so he gets more done. I am just lazy , i hate cleaning the house unless I know some one is coming over. I am not dirty at any means just the kids clutter it up with their things and I HATE dishes, he told me once he moved in that I didnt have to touch the dishes. My exact words were " Do you know who your talking to? Because you tell me that and I wont touch them." I do them once in a while when he is working alot. He does more of the hosue hold chores then I do. But dont touch my laundry. That is the only thing I am picky about. If I have help great ( I go to the laundry mat on SUandy with about 5 loads of laundry ) but I would rather be there to make sure my clothes are done right. And even with help I tend to refold something some one else just folded. I dont get it cause I am not nit picky over nay thing else what so ever.

For the most part, I clean the house. By cleaning I mean, wiping down the counters, the bathroom, dusting, mopping, ect. Sean does a lot of the day to day pick up. It is only a two bedroom townhouse. So, a top to bottom scrubbing still only takes 2 hours max with just one person doing it. I have decided that when we get something bigger, we are getting a housekeeper to go along with that lawn service.

For the most part I am the house keeper. I guess it isn't so bad since he takes care of all the bills and such ;) I really hate to clean though, I wish we had a housekeeper, but then I'd be worried about them stealing something :bblol:
I guess I need to go do the dishes that have piled up since last night :p

Geez, I feel so spoilt saying that I have a housekeeper.
We were swamped with craft shows, orders etc. before last Christmas so Hugh thoughfully hired someone to come in every two weeks for 2 months. It took a big load of both of our shoulders.
Our schedules haven't changed much (if anything, we are busier) so we never asked them to stop coming. They come in to vacumn, dust and hose down our place every two weeks.
We share the stuff in between - we clean, do laundry, take out the garbage, cook and call for takeout.

Ohhhh!! I'm jealous!! lol. But I completely understand where you are coming from with not having the time...you are a busy woman!! :D
In Germany, they send out a home care taker to look after your home and you right after you have your babies. My SIL was so spoiled when she got that...I was thinking how wonderful it would be if it were the same here in Canada...but then I got to thinking that my MIL will probably do the same for me if/when we have our babies.:D

We pretty much split the chores. Although, I have to say that I am surprised at how much he actually does. He was SPOILED by his mom (she did everything for him). He does a lot more of the day to day stuff...doing dishes & laundry.

If FH cleans everyone knows about it. He will parade around and make sure everyone knows that he took out the trash... of course its not that bad but you get the idea... needless to say I do most of the cleaning.

We have 4 kids so we try to delegate as much as possible. They are always wanting to do this or go there, so they have chores to earn those things. When they are on strike or its jobs not assigned to the kids, Brian is very good about helping me.

I clean and can't stand anyone else doing it because they don't do it the way I want it done. I had a lady clean for me for a while when I was married before and I would come home and re-do it. I like my laundry done a certain way, my house cleaned a certain way and I just prefer to do it myself becasue I haven't found anyone who will do it right.

You aren't spoiled, you work. Trust me, if we had an actual house, we would have a housekeeper too. Heck my mother had one for years and was a stay at home wife.

Thinking on it .... I am spoiled; by Hugh. He arranged the cleaning lady for me so that I wouldn't have to do so much. He's the best!

The funny thing is ... we have a two bedroom apartment. We whip around the place to pre-clean before the ladies get there! The first thing I do when I get home after cleaning day is to run a hot bubble bath in the clean tub! :)

We both help. Lately, I have been doing more b/c he works 10 hrs./day, 7 days/week. He is great at organizing and putting stuff away and then I do most of the actual cleaning.

I used to clean our old house by myself but since we have gotten our new one and the living space quadrupled, I found myself cleaning all the time. FH helps me now. I hate to vacuum so he does that and I do the rest. Anytime there is anything that needs to be done whether it is working in the gardens, garage, or anything else we always do it together. It gets done faster that way! :bbmrgreen:

I do almost everything but outside work (unless it has to do with the pool). I am a stay at home mom/wife so I have a lot of time at home to get things done. Chris has 2 jobs so I can stay at home so his only job is mowing the lawn and wiping his feet before he comes in!

Sometimes we have probelems with him not pre-treating stains, but other than that he is even more anal about putting the whites with teh whites, the lights with the lights, the darks with teh darks and the towels with the towels. He has his own little system!!!

Justin has an issue with not taking his pens out of his shirt pocket. I'm sorry, but I am not going to check every single shirt when I wash it. It happened again yesterday and ink got all over everything. Thank goodness none of my stuff was in there. He should remember to take it out of shirt before he puts it in the hamper.

I am the anal laundry queen. I won't even wash the blue and the grey towels or the pinks and the reds together. Sean won't even attempt to learn the system.

Wow. I have never heard of anyone doing it like that. I thought I was anal about the laundry.
