Our car died on the way back from the store last night.
I was late for work and my cab ride cost me $35.
It cost me $90 to tow our car to the garage.
The mechanic called to tell us that the axle has split, we need new brakes and new discs - $400
I am stressing over the fact that Hugh's parents won't be coming to our wedding, stressing over his father's upcoming operation, stressing over uncompleted wedding projects, stressing over business orders to complete, stressing over projects & duties to do at my day job, stressing over trying to arrange transportation & accomodations for my children during our wedding weekend and just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse ....
I get a call from a good friend. He was calling me from a funeral home. He called to tell me that his wife of 40+ years is dying and he was at the funeral home making arrangements for her. He doesn't expect her to live out till the end of today.
And so that is when it occured to me .............. everytime I start thinking that it couldn't get any worse ...... that is just the time when God comes along and slaps me upside the head, to remid me that it could very well be much much worse!
That one phone call changed my whole outlook on the day. I am not going to whine or feel sorry for myself any longer. I am just going to get on with my day, do whatever I can do and be ever so grateful for all the stress in my life!

I'm sorry about your friend Elizabeth. I can't imagine that was an easy thing to listen to. Trust me, we hae all had the day right befor eour wedding that caused us to want to run away. I swear, leading up to mine, I thought my life was becoming one of God's favorite reality shows. It got to the point I thought He was jacking with me for His own entertainment.

Not feeling sorry for myself any longer. I know that whatever comes my way - I am alive and capable of dealing with it! Whatever doesn't kill me, will only make me stronger.
Ruth was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago and was hospitalized immediately. She has only been able to return home for one short weekend during this time. Her husband has been brave up to a point but we can see that it's also been very very hard on him. Life won't be the same for him after she's gone.

God does have a way of coming along and reminding us just how lucky we are to have the normal stresses of daily life and to appreciate all that comes with it. I am sorry to hear about your friend Elizabeth and I will place the both of you in my prayers.

Cancer is a terriable disease. I lost my Auntie after she was diagnosed the spring of 2004, she died the following November. I am so very sorry and hope that things will work out in some way for her. I will keep her in my thoughts. Take care Elizabeth!

I am sory to hear that she has passed. Cancer is a terrible thing. It has hit my family, and others close to me. I worked at Mayo Clinic in the Hematology/Oncology dept and I saw first had how it tortures the patients. It is a sad thing to see them go, but it is a blessing that they no longer have the pain.
My prayers are def with her family.

You must be one special kind of angel to work in such a place.

Sorry to hear about your bad day and about your friend's wife.
Yeah, when ever I am stressed or upset over something I try to step back and think how much worse it could be. I am definitely thankful to God for what I have. Though I do have bad days and wish things could be better in my life, I try to think that everything happens for a reason and is meant to teach you and/or make you stronger. Sometimes it is hard to see that when everything is happening though.
Best wishes

I am not an angel by any means. I worked in the scheduling dept, but I did have daily contact w patients. My granffather was treated there for cancer in the early nineties, and I felt priv. to have been hired there. It is an amazing and educational place to work.

:) It's on my playlist for our wedding. It considered it my personal theme song for a while. If I was bolder, I would have suggested that we dance out of the sanctuary to that song!
