Casey and Steven - 8-28-10

We are back from our honeymoon so it is time to post the wedding day story!!

Rehearsal started at 4:00 pm at the chapel. Once everyone arrived we got them all lined up and practiced walking down the aisle. My nerves were already setting in! It took about an hour at the chapel and then we went to Steve's parents for supper. We had a BBQ and visited for a couple hours. Then one of my bridesmaids, one of Steve's groomsmen and I went to the VFW to see if they needed help setting up. We didn't stay long since they had things under control. Nadine and I went back to my moms and got ready for bed.

I woke up around 6:45 am to shower and get ready to get my hair done. Nadine and I got to my sisters around 7:30 to get our hair and make-up done. All of my bridesmaids were there to get ready.

After we got our hair done I had my sister do my make up. Nadine and I ran to the grocery store to pick up some things for lunch to bring to the chapel since we would be there for a couple of hours. At 10:30 am I arrived at the chapel to meet my photographer and she shot me getting ready. At 11:00 everyone else started to arrive for pictures. Steve and I took some pictures alone and then we did group pictures.

We had a little bit of time to relax before the ceremony started. I sat around and tried to calm my nerves and Steve mingled a little bit. The officiant arrived about a half an hour before the ceremony and went through it with us a little bit. It was then time to line up!!! My nerves and emotions were through the roof and I was shedding tears before I had to walk down the aisle!! (PMS, I swear.) My nerves really did settle once I was up in front of everyone with Steve. The ceremony started with a remembrance ceremony that Steve's dad read. We talked about the loved ones that we had lost and handed out a rose to their family members. It was very sweet and had everyone in tears. Then Steve's best man did a reading from Jane Eyre which was nice. Then... my mom and Steve's mom surprised us by reading this thing... I can't remember much about it but it was quite shocking and I was in tears. lol! So was my mom. We did vows

The sand ceremony was funny because from one side it was all black sand and from the other side it mixed really well from black to white. The side the crowd saw was all black... they were laughing. Then we over filled it and it spilled all over! Haha!

Then it was time to have some fun!!! We headed over to a bar across from base and had a couple drinks before making our way to the reception. We were able to mingle with the guests before the dinner started. I had a little bit of a meltdown... I think it was just from all my emotions running high and I got AF during that time. It was all catching up to me and I had to shed a few tears. I recovered and then it was time for dinner. We had ham, potatoes, mac n cheese, coleslaw, fruit, cottage cheese, buns, and wine. Excellent food! And my aunts made it all. I hadn't seen the cake before we got to the reception hall but it turned out better than I could have imagined!!!

Oh!! The speeches that my sisters and Steve's best men did were amazing!! I cried like a baby...
My sister surprised me by reading a poem I wrote for Steve 11 years ago. Hahaha!! I was in 4th grade and had a major crush on him... My mom saved the poem (which I didn't know about) and my sister read it out loud to everyone. It was a hit and hilarious!!

Then it was time for some fun!!! :beer_smile: Steve was making sure everyone was having a good time and things were in order while I was making sure I had enough Sex on the Beach to last me all night. Hahaha!! He is such a good husband.

We had a huge crowd on the dance floor so the DJ just kept playing fun songs to keep people dancing.

We danced all night! The music ended around midnight and Steve drove me to the hotel where we spent some time in the jacuzzi and headed to bed. I had a few too many to drink and kept thanking Steve for marrying me! Hahaha... He put up with me pretty well that night.

Ate some leftovers and then left for our honeymoon!!
I don't have any pictures of the honeymoon because I lost my charger somewhere. We didn't go much though.. Steve wasn't feeling well and I was exhausted so we spent a lot of time in our room relaxing! We did some shopping and went out to eat. It was a super amazing wedding! I could not have asked for a better day. I will post pictures from the photographer when I get them.

Thanks Ladies!! It really was great... No one has had any complaints about it! I will have to get my after wedding journal started up soon! School just started so I will be pretty wrapped up in that for a while. I should get professional pictures back soon and I will post those!
