Same with the cake, I have also seen and heard about weddings where the couple is so busy that they hardly get to eat at the reception.

So for those already married; did you get to sit down and eat?

I did, yes. ;) Although I didn't eat as much as I would have if the wedding hadn't been mine - I was too giddy and excited. I had the opportunity to eat more, but I wanted to get up and mingle.

It's okay though, we went to Denny's at 3 a.m. in our wedding outfits. :w00t:

I didn't get much to eat, and I got all of one bite of cake :( My dad made my favorite dish for the wedding too I just didn't get to take the time to eat much of it :doh:

i voted yes b/c I made DH sit down w/me and eat the main course... there were like 10,000 courses tho so we didn't get to eat everything...

we even got to eat during the cocktail hour b/c i had the owner bring us up some food since we didn't want to mingle downstairs.... we wanted some us time (which ended up being us stuffing our faces)

Yes, just a few bites. We sat down, but my corset was so tight my stomach wouldn't expand so I couldn't eat as much as I wanted! LOL

We had a running Buffet. I managed to get a few bits. But then had to go into the Kitchen to make more food up for the Evening Guests.

Our Wedding was more a case of "Eat, Drink And Re-Marry" ;)

Yes. We didn't get any of the cocktail munchies, but we got to sit down and eat all of the courses of our dinner. But then by the time the cake and dessert trays were served, I had eaten so much that I wasn't hungry for it! If I could have a redo I would make more room for desset! :)

I made sure we were going to eat. We weren't paying for all that, and not getting anything to eat. We had some of the appetizers in between pictures, then we had our dinner. I didn't eat as much, because my dress was too tight with the corset and all. I wish I could've at more cause it was yummy!

We didn't have a dinner reception, just finger foods and cake since it was afternoon. We each got literally two bites of cake (because the photographer requested we re-do the feeding pictures "just in case") and I got a glass of punch after BEGGING because I was about to pass out! I didn't sit down until I got in the car to leave!

We had a lovely steak dinner at the hotel, just the two of us!

Yup, we definitely made sure to eat. We were sooo hungry by the time the dinner food finally came out that we got lots of it. We got really lucky in that the plates were the cheapest (by far) of any other places we'd checked out... and it was the best food I've had at any wedding reception. I wish we could go back and have it again, but I think they just do catering for big events (at the VFW we had the reception at).

Yes we have got the chance to my reception dinner.
Actually food for brides, grooms and for family members are kept separated.
So there no chance that it get finished off.

Being such a big foodie of course I had to eat.. Did I eat a WHOLE lot?? No because I was just too excited and having way too much fun to feel hungry. Haha. However, I did try everything and it was all DELICIOUS!! Ate enough to keep me full. :):)
