Want a flower girl but don't know any little girls? *You could always rent one ... just kidding! Or what if you just don't want children in the wedding, what then? Well, if you want the look and feel of having a flower girl and the strewed rose petals at your wedding, try one of these ideas ...

1. Have small packages of rose petals given to all the guests seated on the inside pews closest to the aisle. Instruct the guests to toss the petals on the floor in front of you just as you and your escort get a few feet away. I have seen this done twice, it is a unique and dramatic display and makes for a wonderful photo.

2. *Hire a ballet dancer to act as the "flower girl" ... in this case it is more of a performance as the graceful dancer makes her way down the aisle tossing petals in the aisle in her wake to prepare for your entrance ... this is another beautiful photo opportunity.

3. Just have someone strew tons of rose petals in the aisle just before the processional is set to start. You have the look you want, but remember in this case the others will get to walk on the petals before you come out.

* If none of these will work for you, an aisle runner is just as dramatic without the petals as long as it is pulled out just before the bride enters.

Ok, first I have to say that you're absolutely right...this could make for some stunning photographs. But for some reason it's giving me the giggles imagining it...Instead of the long aisle that this sort of thing would deserve, I'm imagining a dancer dressed in the cliched pink tutu thumping down our short (I think) little aisle.

I know, I know, I have a strange sense of humor.

Another alternative is to have a junior BM and no FG.

Well stange must love company cuz I got the giggles out of it too, I'm just not refined enough to handle that one! It does sound beautiful but would have been SO out of place at our little country church wedding!

AWESOME POST BTW Brandi (sucking up for giggling over the ballerina)!

Neither of you are to far off. The only thing I could think of when the ballerina was dancing down the aisle was Will Ferrell in Old School when he was doing his gymnastics thing with the ribbon.

Brandi you are the most super duper bestest article finder in the whole universe. (If Ellen can suck up, so can I.)

It is neat but we're warped and have delusions of twisted ballerinas!

HAHA ... You guys are so funny ;P I've actually seen the ballerina thing at a couple of weddings (neither one wore a tutu) and it was nice. It was hard to get a good picture though, from where I was all I got was the girls back side (in both weddings) she would move at just the right time and I guess I wasn't fast enough ;) But I saw the video of it at one and it was really nice. But it may not be for everyone, it does lean towards a more formal feel.

Thanks for the suck up though ;)
