Hi there! I was so frustrated, I posted a thread without introducing myself first! LOL! So, here's my little bio:

My name is Heather. I am 22 years old, a full time student of biology, full time nanny to 4 beautiful little girls, I am the owner of a feline behavior consulting firm, and have been with my fiance for 6 years.

Wayne was originally a friend of the family and became my math tutor. Well, eventually, the math tutoring wasn't really needed anymore, but we used it as an excuse to see each other. After a few months, we started dating. I moved in with him 4 years ago (I had a HUGE falling out with my mother, who kicked me out (long story) without a job, a car, driver's license and still in high school. I had no where else to go.). We've had our ups and downs, and even went to some couple's counselling about a year ago. We are complete opposites, but compliment each other very well.

Wayne is the sophisticated, proper, super intelligent, city boy. I'm the rough and tough, horse back riding, gettin' dirty, life's about having fun, country girl. His parents weren't very happy when we first got together. They didn't really like me- though, I can't blame them much; he is 8 years older than me! But, I've grown on them (even though they still believe we don't sleep together), and I think they have finally accepted me.

We are trying to plan a rather traditional, formal wedding with a touch of a modern twist. A few elements here and there will stray from the norm (I'd prefer they strayed a bit more, but I do have to let Wayne have a say ONCE IN A WHILE!), but for the most part, think of your classic, movie romance wedding, and that's us!

Wayne owns his own computer sales and service business, but has started working part time at K-mart to bring in some extra funds for our wedding. We are owned by 5 resident kitties and whatever foster kitties we happen to have at the time (currently, one GIANT Russian Blue mix, neutered male). Being the only feline behaviorist in the area, I work with many of the area shelters as a foster and re-homing aid. We are also involved in a medieval reenactment group (SCA or Society for Creative Anachronism). This is different from the Renn Faires you see, because everything we do is based in historical fact. And, if you attend an event, you are expected to be part of the spectacle, not just a spectator. It's lots of fun! I do Rapier (medieval fencing), garb making, tablet weaving, medieval herbology and leather working. Wayne enjoys armor making, heraldry, historical research, and we're working on trying to get him involved with some of the heavy armor combat.

Well, that's us in a nut shell! A few interesting things here and there, but mostly just your typical City Boy meets Country Girl scenario. Feel free to ask ANY questions! I love talking about myself! LOL! I'm SOOO glad to be on a board that seems much friendlier than others I've been on (I'll be nice and say names). I look forward to meeting you all and making new friends!

:welcome2: Glad to have you here.

Will you be tying in your medieval interests into your wedding? One of our brides, Whitney (whose screen name is The Proper Wedding) is planning a medieval themed wedding. Sounds like you all might have some stuff in common.

Durh, Heather! Yea, telling you my wedding date might be a LITTLE obvious! LOL!

We have decided on June 23, 2012. We were having a hard time making things work astrologically, so it's the best we could come up with. We will be having a private handfasting (just us two) three lunar cycles before the wedding date, so sometime in March of 2012.

As far as the Medieval thing goes, I would like our invitations to be medieval themed, but since it's not really the 'theme' of our wedding, we're not sure yet. Also, one of the locations we are considering for our reception is at the Toledo Museum of Art in the Cloister room, which is a room full of nothing but medieval architecture, medieval tapestries, books, etc. It's beautiful! We also will incorporate a few medieval dances into the festivities, because many of our SCA friends will be attending (a few are even in the wedding party).
