Well, it has almost been two weeks since we have been married and I honestly still feel no different then I did really before the wedding. I now get to call Pat my husband instead of my fiance...I have to get use to writing Elizabeth D. Davis and being called Mrs. Davis, but other then that and the ring on my finger, nothing new.

We are getting ready to leave for our honeymoon on Friday and of course DH has put off packing his suitcase...MEN..and what does he want to take in his carry on bag....a case of paintballs. *Rolls Eyes* I guess it never ends.

Thursday the 3rd will be my last day working at the hospital. By the time we are back from the UK, the usual receptionist will be back. I knew the day was coming, so when I get back, it will be back to finding a job. They may have an opening within the EMH System though in the administration building that I would be able to do and since I am in so good with the President of the Hospital and all the VP's, it shouldn't be too hard for me to get something.

Also when we get back, we are going to begin TTC!! WooHoo!! I'm not going to put too much effort into it though because I am afraid if I do, it won't happen and then I will be disappointed, but it will be fun trying!!

The adoption process to have Pat adopt Summer will have to begin then as well and hopefully it will be quick and easy...I don't want it to drag out anymore then it has too. Her bio father has already said he would not try to stop it, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Getting Michael's dad to allow Michael to change his last name to Davis should be interesting as well.....

Well, it has still been a mad house around here! We are trying to get packed and ready to go the UK tomorrow...I'm a little anxious about flying because I haven't flown since I was 7 or 8. The ladies at work today started talking about how much they hated flying and about all the things that could go wrong...It was like sheesh...thanks for that ladies....I'm sure I won't be here after tonight, for a little while. If I happen to get a moment over in the UK, I will get on and let you all know how I am doing, but we will see how it goes...

Congratulations on your wedding and TTC, that is great!! I wish we were but we're deliberately waiting a year so we can get a sportscar and go on a "Eurotrip" first!

Let us know how the UK is!! Where all are you going? I am sure the flight will be fine... my tips, if you get this before you leave, would be to bring small toiletries in your carry-on (toothbrush, face cloths and bottled water and a small snack are a must), plus anything you need to be comfortable- your own travel pillow, something soft and long sleeved in case you're cold, and foam ear plugs for takeoff and landing. Good luck!!! :D Have fun!!!

I hate flying to but I get over it. The flight to the UK, depending on where you are heading is only about 6 1/2 to 7 hours. So it is less than a day at work. Just take a nap, read, talk to you husband, and watch the movie. You are there before you know it.

Well, I started my new job and so far I like it there..The girl I am replacing is getting married this Sunday and then moving to San Antonio...so, there is the potential of it becoming permanent. Here's to hoping.

My step-mother took the kids school shopping this weekend and we had a good time. Other then that, there isn't much going on around here right.

Still not a whole lot going on here in married land. Everything has been very quiet and I kind of like it that way.

I formally put in my resume at work in hopes that they will consider me for the full-time, permanent position. I really enjoy working there, but I am still trying to not get my hopes up about the whole situation.

My kiddos start school in about a week and I am not very happy about it. My baby girl isn't suppose to be growing up so quickly.

Well, I don't know where else to put this sort of thing. I suppose in the book section would be a better idea, but I with all of the other journals going, I figured I would just condense my journals. Besides, this is a Life Journal and the reading of this book counts as part of my life....

Whenever I start reading a new book, I have to somehow document it and take note of certain key points just because it helps me to absorb what I am reading...Plus it keeps me in line on the reading.

Memoirs of a Geisha ~ Arthur Golden:

In Memoirs of a Geisha, we enter a world where appearances are paramount; where a girl's virginity is auctioned to the highest bidder; where women are trained to beguile the most powerful men; and where love is scorned as illusion. It is a unique and triumphant work of fiction-at once romantic, erotic, suspenseful-and completely unforgetable.

This is what I am currently reading.

LizabethDavis

The translator starts the story speaking of how he and his father went to watch a dance performance in Kyoto. He talked of how he watched the dancers and never imagined that someday, in the future, he would be sitting with one of those dancers talking about her life.

He was surprised that Sayuri would agree to document her story if he himself agreed to record it . Geisha were not the type to generally openly share their stories and here he had a geisha that was willing to share her story. However, she would only allow it to be shared after some of the men and her both had died. Now that both are gone, he is able to share her story.

LizabethDavis
08-29-2006, 08:34 PM
In the first chapter, Chiyo-chan begins by telling us about how she wasn't actually born to be a Kyoto Geisha. She was actually born to a fisherman in the town of Yoroido.

She goes on to talk about her life in this little town in her "tipsy" house and in her early years she was more like her mother then her father and sister. Her mother was more water and her father more wood.

She talks about how at the age of six, she learned that her father had been married to another woman and had children by this woman before he even met her mother and that his entire family died.

In the next part, the house gets a visit from the local doctor who has come to check up on Chiyo-Chan's mother and we soon learn that her mother is dying and does not have much longer to live.

Chiyo's father then sends her to the market for incense when it begins raining and she falls and then the character of Mr. Tanaka is introduced. He is described as a very handsome, powerful man who helps her much to her surprise.

LizabethDavis
08-29-2006, 08:46 PM
This chapter begins by Chiyo talking about how she had gone swimming in the local pond to try to take her mind off of everything that had happened.

At some point she decided to go home and ran into her sister who had her bathing dress up around her neck while a boy was playing with her Mt. Fuji's.

Mr. Tanaka came up behind her and told her a story as she sat naked about how his father died when he was younger and he was taken in by a family and after marrying the family's daughter, was adopted and made as one of their own. Chiyo said that no one would ever want her in the same way and she went on her way home.

About a week later, she came home to find Mr. Tanaka at her home speaking with her father about something in a sort of hushed voice. We later find out that he wishes for her and her sister to visit him at his home.

Her and her sister go for a visit and get examined and then taken back to Mr. Tanaka's home where, at least Chiyo, seems to be enjoying it. She met Kuniko who is Mr. Tanaka's daughter and they begin a friendship and Chiyo followed her to watch Mr. Tanaka at a teahouse where the geisha are.

Okay, it has been soooo long since I have kept up with this. Since my last post, I have finished reading my book, which was just amazing! I loved it so much I had to see the movie, which kind of disappointed me. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the book.

I finished my first afghan of the year for my babysitter's newborn for Christmas and I am now working on my next one for her 5 year old. She has a total of four kids and my goal is to get them all an afghan done before Christmas.

I finally got a PERMANENT job!!! I am working for a "new" fuel company in the area. They have only been around for a year, so they are considered new. I am working as their Secretary and so far, I love it!! It is going to be very busy come winter time and people are going to be trying to scam us left and right, but I get to wear whatever I want to the "office" which is out of someone's home.

Married life is great. Because of our schedule's, we don't get to see each other as much as we would like, but the times that we are together, we make every second count.

I think that is all for now...

I have got to stop taking so long in between my entries in here.

I wish I could say that things were peachy keen here in married land, but sadly they aren't. Pat and I have been bickering all weekend. Truthfully, like most people I know, we live paycheck to paycheck and this week our rent was due, which took our entire paychecks. I only had enough left over to put gas in the car and buy a little bit of food. Well, I am doing the best I can with what we have and it doesn't seem to be good enough for him. He doesn't seem to understand that I don't have a lot to work with this week.

Of course, he is probably also mad at his dumb self because he has to go visit jail for 10 days starting on November 3. He got caught for the 4th time Operating after suspension.

Anyway, I am sure we will get through all of this like we get through everything else.

Other then all of that, my job is going well. Staying busy and I am due for my dollar raise soon, which will be good.

The kids are doing well. Michael is doing his popcorn sales in scouts and rocking at it. He is earning his Bobcat badge on Wednesday and leading a flag ceremony.

Summer is doing awesome in school. Learing a lot that really surprises me.

I guess that is all for now.

Panthers Bride

Good luck on the raise (that's an extra $1,000+ a year you know).
Glad you're liking your job - and I understand the paycheck to paycheck thing. If it weren't for having such good friends, and a great FH, there'd be weeks when I wouldn't have eaten at all.

Going to start taking predictions on the baby now! I set up a game at expectnet.com! The game name is BabyDavis2007 Go make your predictions!!!

I bought a few things tonight for the baby. Nothing major. Two 4 packs of baby washcloths and a fleece baby blanket. Like I said, nothing major, but with any luck, I will be getting my crib, changing table, dresser and travel system this weekend (if the tax refund comes through!)!

I predict a boy. Just to be different since there was already one for a girl.

Actually I just hope you have a healthly baby no matter what it is.

Pat claims that he has people working on a baby shower for me, but it will be a surprise, so I won't know when it is anyway....

Starting to feel better and the morning sickness is finally going away...

So, I have been asked to post some U/S pics, so I thought I would do it here.

We found out yesterday what we are having. Pat and I were showering (really, just showering, nothing perverted) and he caused me to slip and fall, hitting my belly on the tub. As a result the ordered an U/S and we were able to find out a couple of weeks early what it is....It's a boy! And the U/S pics follow:
