Hi, everyone. I'm participating in a bridal show as a vendor next month. Brides, my question to you is: What do you like to get for free when you go to a bridal show? Not large packages but the little "something" that is usually attached to a business card? What would make a particular vendor stand out more than another? Help is much appreciated.

Candy is always good to give away. Bite sized chocolates would be nice for me! You might also consider raffling away something large with no string attatched.

I always use candy of some sort, usually chocolates. I've also seen little bottles of lotion and/or bath crystals a few times.
I also do a drawing to give away a gift basket, I have the brides register with me to enter.

The other suggestions were really great. And I haven't been to any bridal shows so I don't know what really works, but I was just thinking that I'm a sucker for a cool magnet. I always end up keeping them for at least a while. Or maybe post-its - I know I have these scattered all through my notes.

Chocolate sounds good. What kind of business do you have? Maybe you could do something that relates to that.

I would try to go with something related to whatever service you happen to be providing. If I knew what kind of service you provided, I would have better suggestions.

We do wedding coordinating.
What I'd like to do is give away something that the brides will notice when they go through all their bridal show stuff at home. I give them a business card and it gets shuffled in with all the others. I give them candy, (which I always include anyway) and they eat it before they get home. What can I give them to help them remember me? I'd love to give away little calendar planners, but I can't afford that many quite yet. Thanks for the suggestions thus far!!

In addition the small giveaway you could do postcards with some sort of special offer on them. I see this kind of thing alot.

Well Ive always been told you have to spend a little money to make some. I understand that the little calendar thing might be expensive (although with you being a planner - that is an awsome idea!!!), but what about note pads, or post-its (as someone suggested) or maybe a pen. If its something I could use at home (even for a little while) it would definitely get my attention more.

You can have them register for a bigger prize, like Brandi suggested, maybe a gift basket with planning related things...ie. a pen, calender, planner, wedding planning book, etc. Then you will have their addresses and you can mail them a personalized postcard about 3-5 days later with a little reminder message!!! That will let them know that you follow-up and everyone likes getting postcards!!! Just an idea!!!

Thats a good idea!!!
Something else too, the "fancier" the business cards, the more attention they get from me. Dont know why, they just do. Brian is the same way. Hes even commented before that the reason he went with a certain company was because he liked their business card.

Magnets ... IMHO a magnet is practical, inexpensive and most likely to be seen over and over again. I myself would have them designed to look like SAVE THE DATE magnets - ie business card size.
If you want to take it a step further & give a little more, you can use little sticky dots to attach a discount coupon (of some sort) to each magnet. If you go to another show you can change out the coupon for some other promotion - just discard the old and attach the new.

Hey Misty,
A great source for personalized pens is http://www.thepenguy.com. They're relatively inexpensive, quick turn-around, and everyone uses pens.
Another "cheapie" give-away I've done is take individual bags of chamomile tea (soothing, you know), and attach a tag that says "You can relax with Weddings From The Heart" on one side, and my web address & phone number on the other. Lavender sachets would also work with this.

That is a nice idea ... tying in the whole stress relief thing ;) The bath salts I mentioned before would also work with this theme. Ot little bottles if wine ;) just kidding with that one :p

If you are attaching someting to your business card or postcard, opt for an unusual shape and color-- something to drive definite attention to your piece :)
