I am so jealous of you! I really wanted to go, but I just couldn't afford it.

I saw some coverage on TV, but didn't go. I have thought of going before, but never have.

It is amazing! This was my 2nd year. I think everyone should at least experience it once, it is a total culture shock (some more so than to others). I love that its such a collection of people all co-existing and you can meet so many different people from so many places. You get a sense of community in just a short amount of time.
I got to see the Chuck panel (3rd row) and it was crazy! Boy is Zach and Josh gorgeous
I also got to see the Vampire Diaries panel (3rd row) and I was impressed with the prettiness of the cast.
The first year I went was just for the shopping, which there is plenty to do. However this year I went two days, so I did have time to go to panels, and that is an experience! I now love going to panels because you hear and see before everyone else. And if your lucky enough to be in the very front, wow!
The Peanuts 60th panel was cool. I got to meet two people who are working on the new Peanuts show.
So if you haven't gone, I would highly recommend saving up and going! Plus after 2012 who knows where its going to end up. I'm hoping it stays in SD ... but its really not just about comics, nor am I promoting I just really am still buzzed by my experience I got a free Chuck shirt that Zach (Chuck actor) threw to me!! oh that made my day

Some of the really good panels happen at or very close to the same time, plus the make it inconvenient and the panel rooms aren't close together. I didn't get to see Big Bang Theory.
The ones I got to see:
Peanuts
Joss Wheldon (Bones)
Entertainment Weekly women who kick a**
True Blood
Chuck
Green Lantern, Harry Potter, Sucker Punch
Fringe
Vampire Diaries
I'm amazed ... looking at that list, I did actually get to see a lot. I was totally content with just seeing two.
I wished there was a dexter panel this yr. They had signings last yr. Oh they did have a glee signing it was soo packed for that one.
Panels are easier to get into than signings, since signings are normally very very chaotic.

I didn't get to attend but my niece, Corinna Bechko (writer, etc.) and her husband Gabriel Hardman (illustrator for storyboards and Marvel comics) both attended. They were pretty darn active manning tables, etc. and promoting the graphic novel they published last year called Heathentown.
