How far have you traveled for somebody else's wedding? Also how far away are some of your guests coming from or did come from your wedding?

I live in south east Texas and the farthest I have traveled to a wedding was to Clovis, New Mexico which is in north east New Mexico. It was about a 16 hour drive.

For my wedding invitations will be going to people all over Texas, but mostly central and south east. There will be a few going to other states-New Mexico, Louisiana, Pennyslvania, Colorado, and North Carolina.

Most of my invites are going out to people who live within 2 hours of my wedding.

I think there are less than 20 invitations that are going further away. We have a 4 going to Miami, 4 going to Indiana, 2 to Kentucky, 1 to NC, 1 to PA, 1 to Texas, 2 to Scottsdale AZ, and 1 to CA (LA).

Honestly the rest are in the DC Metro Area or right outside of it. I have a few people who live about 2 hours away, but they are immediate family and will be here.

I believe the longest I ever travelled to one of my cousin's weddings was about 8 or so weddings.

We had people come from over seas and on the other end of Canada for our wedding.

We have travelled for wedding before. In fact I just got back from a wedding in Philadelphia last weeked. The furthest we have gone has been to Orlando when Sean's cousin got married a few years ago.

For our wedding we had people travel to Pittsburgh from: West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Floridia, Minnesota, California, Kansas, Colorado, Illionis, Arizona, and North Carolina. But the travel award goes to our one freind who was working in China and flew back to the US for the wedding.

Everybody we invited lives near St. Louis, so the furthest is going to be like 45 minutes away.

Sadly I have been to more funerals than weddings and all of those were near here. The farthest our guests are coming from are Seattle, WA and Napa, CA. Oh, wait, one of the GM's is from Alaska.

I've never really had to travel far for a wedding, as most have been nearby. In October though, we'll be travelling about 4 hours to attend a friend's.

As for our wedding, again, most everyone was local except for a handful of DH's relatives who came in from Kansas and Connecticut.

Since moving out here to Seattle I've been back to North Dakota once for a wedding (and learned that you can drive from Seattle to Fargo, ND in just under 24 hours.). And I flew to Minnesota for a wedding a few years ago.

About half of our guests are flying from here or California to the U.K. The other already live in Suffolk or Essex. I was pretty shocked when I found out how many people from here wanted to go. I just assumed that no one would be able to make it. I'm feeling like I have some pretty good friends now. :)
