So I have been thinking about have having a candy bar, or buffet at my wedding.
I want to put a little spin on it and make it a 'Sweet & Salty' buffet, I want to do it all myself. So I quess I want to know, 1 if it's okay to use that as the favors for the wedding, because I don't think I can afford to do that and all the food, and then favors. It just doesn't seem logical.
And 2 has anyone else done this? What are some do or don'ts with the cany buffet? What are some tips or tricks to make it affordable?

My friend had one and her wedding colors were hot pink and hot green. so she had huge glass containers with hot pink jelly beans, hot green licorice, and others all in those colors! it was very pretty! and yummy!

I have some really terrible pictures of our candy buffet:

We had SO much candy left over! We used them as favors... so we didn't have any extra little favors, we just did the candy buffet. The majority of it was sweet candy but then we had a big bowl of mixed nuts in the middle of it. So I guess it was kind of sweet and salty but mostly sweet! I ordered all of my candy online but the shipping got kind of spendy. If you have any questions, just ask!

We had cupcakes and a huge cake as well. I think all of the cupcakes got eaten but we had a ton of cake left over! I think if we would have just had cake it would have been fine. I think people will still eat your cake if you do a candy buffet or even if you did an ice cream sundae buffet.

I love the sweet & salty buffet idea (especially doing double duty as a decoration and favor for guests) It's the kind of thing that's good for everyone, as FH isn't big on sweets but lots salty snacks. We also have a few guests that are diabetic so by labeling sugar free candies they can have treats too rather than just giving everyone chocolate! :crossfingers: hopefully I can work this into our budget

Sounds like a fun idea to me. I love how each couple can really define their own tastes in so many little ways.
