My hair is straight, thin and not very long. My hair dresser tells me that she can put it up or curl it but even with a pound and a half of hairspray, I am afraid that it just won't hold. I am supposed to bring in some photos so that we can do a trial style and I don't have any yet.

Here is my dress - antique, drop waist, kind of a flapper style. I bought two simple tiaras (hairband style with pearls) but I don't necessarily need to wear them. I do not have a veil.

Here is a recent picture of myself

I rather like this style because it would fit with my dress but I am not used to seeing myself with curls and so I am not quite sure it would be "me".

Does anyone have any other inspirational pics?

This one is similar to the one you showed, but a little less dramatic, but still of the same "flapper" style. I hope you can see it.

I am unsure as to what would suit me but that is pretty. Can the hairsprays these days really hold? Perhaps I will find out when I go for my trial run.

They would probably use gel and hairspray to get it to hold.

My hair is thin and very straight like yourself. the hairstylist got mine to hold curl by using mousse and hairspray. it held for the entire wedding and reception. still looked nice the next morning too.

Becky has pictures of everything ;)

I like the 'flapper' style do, like you said it would go with the style of your dress. I say do a trail run and see if you like it. While you should like and be comfortable with your hair, it doesn't have to be 'you' as in something you would normally wear KWIM.

As for holding; gel, hairspray and hair pins will do wonders for any type of hair ;)

:goodluck:

I am leaning towards the flapper style too. If not that, I will see what she can do about putting my hair up. I am going for streaks and a trial run a week before the wedding. We'll play a bit then. If I remember, I will bring my camera and take some pics.

It's hard to see myself objectively ... ie in any other way than how I normally wear my hair. Everytime the hairdresser does something different, I end up going home and doing it over myself LOL

Yes, do take pics! You know how we all love pics :D

I have a hard time at the hair dresser too! I have come out of there almost in tears before. But them come home and fix it myself and be fine ;) Bring an honest friend as an un bias opinion. I am sure you will figure something out :D

Ok we only did a partial trial because I needed to be somewhere else and I ran out of time! LOL

We decided not to go 20's style because I am really not sure that the curls would hold or that I would like them on me.

So here is what we managed to get done before I had to run. This is the basic of the "do" but not curled. The sides are going to be pinned back loosely, my bangs blow dried, the back curled & pinned loosely, & loose curled tendrils.

Can you envision it? Opinions?

This is the closest pic that I could find to what I think we will be doing LOL

I think it is gorgeous, tell your hair dresser to use KENRA ROOT LIFT AND KENRA MEGA HOLD HAIRSPRAY...they are sold at Beauty Salons and higher end "salon stores" Wal-Mart carries the Kenra products in their beauty salons too...I swear by them...my hair was moussed before I got to the salon and then she started pinning and teasing...after the final application of hairspray it would not move! I took the pins out of it honeymoon night and it pretty much stayed up on it's own LOL!

P.S. Kenra won't leave nasty buildup on your hair and washes out EASILY!
