I teach right now, which is what my degree is in. I enjoy it and feel like I've found my place, but I'd really like to go to law school in a few years.

I am a senior at Sam Houston State University. I will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Speech Communication. After that I will find a job-there is a lab I am looking at. However, in January I am going to begin teacher certification. They have classes 2 nights a week. That will last from Jan. to May. Then I will be issued a probationary teacher certificate that will last for the 07-08 school year. I will work as a teacher and get paid and have benefits like the regular teachers. I will just have money for the certification classes payroll deducted. It is still cheaper than going through the traditional route where you have to student teach. Justin did that and it's like you are paying them so you can work. At least I will get a pay check. After that school year I will have my regular teaching certificate.
I have worked as a substitute teacher and absolutely love being in the classroom. Being a teacher will work well for us. Justin hopes to move up in the business he is currently in and that would require us to relocate. There are schools everywhere, so it will be easier for me to get a job. I also would like a job that is more family oriented than your normal job. I know a lot about that line of work because I've worked in the schools and Justin is a licensed educator. He has not taught besides student teaching, but his last job was in the education field. I have several family members and close friends that are teachers. I know what I am getting myself into at least.

The short answer is I am currently just working, but plan to be a stay at home wife.
Ok this sounds really complicated but its not. I currently work for my mom helping her run her cheer business. Jonathan says that unless his work gives him the bonus he's hoping for or our bills arent as high as we anticipated, I might have to work somewhere else as well. Since I'm in school full time, this can be a challenge so right when we get married I'm not going to work until the semester is over and see how we do. I graduate the May after we get married and so I'll be able to work full time if I need to, but by then Jonathan should be working from home saving us almost $300 extra a month on gas, that combined with his new management status, and me not having the extra $200 in gas each month this should help out as well.
So this means that if everything goes "according to plan" then I shouldnt have to work at all... Now something could change and I would have to work, which I have no problem doing, but I would rather stay home and Jonathan would rather have me home.

Before we were married I worked in a garage for my mom's sister and my uncle. I enjoyed my job (except for my mom's sister who I cannot stand anymore!) and I was making very good money. I was going to go to school and become a mechanic then I met Matthew. One year before the wedding I lost my job because my uncle closed his doors. I was happy to no longer be working with my mom's sister but I was worried because I didn't have a job. Matthew and his family took me in and told me that I no longer needed to work...just help out on the farm. (which was never an issue.) Then we moved here and I was again told I didn't have to work and that taking care of Matthew (cooking, cleaning, laundry...that kind of thing) was all I needed to do. This is also because we never planned on staying here and actually were planning to move back home. (I am also under going lots of medical tests that can be time consuming!) Anyhow, long story short, we're moving back to the farm and my new job title is Farmer's wife!! :D And I'm thrilled! This way we can work all summer and go on nice holidays in the winter! ;)

I worked as a graphic designer and then I stayed at home for 12 years when I had my children. During that time, I made and sold woodcrafts at shows. When my marriage broke up, I went back to work as a customer service rep. but never gave up the crafting.
I am now an office manager with big dreams of running my business full time. The plan is for me to work my way out of my day job ... 4 days a week, then 3 ... then 2 .... and then ah uh bye bye :)

I voted 'I have found my calling. This is my career and I love it' this is the closest to my situation. I work for myself from home ... I love the boss (and I have a thing for her husband ;)) and the commute is great ;)

I am a database manager and I love my job, but I hate my boss. And I can retire in less than 6 years, so there is no way I'm leaving it and starting over somewhere else. :D

I don't know how to answer this one. I love my job now. I teach high school social studies in the state gifted program. So it really is a fabulous job. But, I regret not continuing in the law field, especially now since Sean and I have decided to not have children. I also did a lot of work in politics in college. I had 2 major internships on the state and federal levels. So I would like to get back into politics. I also miss things that I was affiliated with like Amnesty Internatinal and NOW. I just don't have the time teaching to do more than glance over the websites and send a check.
I am thinking of getting another degree in diplomacy to see what doors that opens up. I like teaching but if something better comes along anytime soon, I am out of the classroom, no regrets.

I"m a teacher and absolutely love what I do. I love seeing the look on a child's face that says, "OH, that's what it is!" I love seeing the change from Sept to June. Not to say that I love everything that goes with teaching (the paperwork, irate administration or parents, random people thinking I don't do anything all day and have it easy cause I get out at 3), but the rewards definitely outway the bad stuff.
Next year, though, I'm out of the classroom. I just got a brand new job in a brand new city (beating out 5 other people for the position, yay for me!) and I'm going to be a reading specialist. Meaning, that I will work with individual teachers to help them improve their instruction, and will take small groups from their classes who need extra help. I'm really excited about it, and although I'm definitely enjoying the summer off, am looking forward to the new challenges that this position will bring.

I have a B.A. in biology and I'm currently working as a data manager in an environmental consulting office. I'm really close to saying I've found my dream job, because I want to stay in consulting...but I think I'd like to go back to school and pick up a biostatistics or bioinformatics degree.
Of course, best selling novelist is always on the table too. :p

I voted that I've found my career and love it. However, I don't love the office I'm in right now. I'm a paralegal for a sole practitioner and I'm a "one woman show" - I'm the paralegal, secretary, accountant, office manager, file clerk....any type of job in an office - I handle it. It's burning me out, however, I like the legal work.
There's always the thought of law school - which was the direction I was heading when I graduated from Point Park with my B.S. two years ago. It's four more part time years for law school - I'm still kicking it around, with a lot of encouragement and support from my FH, whatever my decision.

Well just summing up the bigger bits, i helped my ex run our car sales company while our children were younger, then i went into care and worked my way up to managing a care home for elderly people with learning disabilites, and qualified as a Welfare Officer. I gave this up during a spell of illness and after a very messy (still ongoing after 5years) parting of the ways i decided to go to University and get a degree. I'm due to begin my third/final year of BSc Social Sciences course in which i study Anthropology, Criminology, Politics and Sociology modules. Its looking likely that after this finishes i am going to go to China for a year teaching English and apart from that the worlds my oyster as they say! LOL xxx

I currently am working as an executive administrative assistant to the president of a large company. I have done many years of office work and love it. I did however work as a respiratory therapist for several years as well, but decided i missed the 9 - 5 positions. while i loved working in a hospital it had became my life at home as well. never enough time with family.

I wasn't sure what to put for this. I like what I do, but it doesn't pay much and I can't stand the management that runs it. It is also a very stressful job and can be overwelming at times. I would like to find something else, but there isn't much availible around here right now. In about a year or two, Fh should be at a spot at his job wear I will only need to work part time, if I even want to work. I would love to be able to be a stay at home mom.
