For Thanksgiving we usually have a wonderful dinner with our extended family. We also have a service at the church that is nice.

Well since Canadian Thanksgiving falls some time in October (the ninth this year) we are usually out combining (harvesting) so we don't celebrate. Before I married into a farm family I spent thanksgiving with my folks, and sometimes my brother, his wife and their rugrats.

We usually have dinner with my brother, sil and their kids and sometimes my sil family. Tehn the Saturday after Thanksgiving we go to Ohio and celebrate with FH's mother's extended family!!! Last Thanksgiving my brother, sister, their significant others and their kids all came from Colorado, so we were all together!!!!

We don't live near our families so sometimes it's just us. We still cook a turkey and the fixings though. The last couple of years we've had "orphan" (friends who also don't have family in the area.) over to share it with us. That's been a lot of fun.

We have HUGE Thanksgiving dinners with the family! Now we're blending Jonathan's family in with ours because we're all becoming so close. We have like 30 + people at Thanksgiving and same for Christmas.

For the first couple of years that we lived together we would run between houses trying to get dinners in with everyone. Then last year we put our foot down and said that it was ridiculous to keep that up. It wasn't fair to us to spend time catering to everyone. So we now have the tradtiion of turning off the phone, sleeping in, going to the movies, and ignoring the world.

I go to my Mother's house for Thanksgiving! Amber and Jason come to my Mother's every other year. The other year, they go to Jason's grandmas house. We always have the works!!! :D

Both my and FH's families live a distance away, so we alternate between them for Christmas and Thanksgiving, switching each year. Though, this past year we were sooooo tired of traveling year after year, that we just stayed home and had close friends over. We invited family to both, but they didn't want to travel.. go figure, right?!

I have lived here for over 10 yrs and I have never gone home for Thanksgiving. My husbands family is further away then mine. My kids go to their dads for this day so we had thanksgiving the day after so the kids could be with us. Other wise it would have been just him and I. This year we want to try to go to his moms in WV but not sure that is going to happen.

We always have dinner with the family. The last few years we have been doing Thanksgiving eve with DH's family at our place and Thanksgiving day with my family, usually at my Mom and Dads house. There is always some issue about what we have, how it's prepared and such, so this year I am cooking and everyone is coming to my house. Still keeping the families separate though, I am afraid my mother would embarrass me in front of DH's family.

I just can't wait until we are married and then we can have a holiday gathering at our house! Most of my family does not know we live together. I really don't care what people think about it all that much, but I would rather keep the peace. My parents know and so do some of my cousins. I think only one of my aunts knows. I want the holiday 2007 at my house!
