I know it may seem like the holidays are far off, but once school starts it seems like it is Christmas before you know it. Justin is a weird guy when it comes to these things. He wants to have the shopping down by Halloween. I like to start the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, I am one of those idiots at Wal-Mart at 5 AM. To me it's just fun. When do you start Christmas shopping?

I usually try and start it by October and hope to finish shorlty into December but this year things are going to be so messed up. The whole family moves in November and none of us are guaranteed to have homes to have Christmas IN! lol. So we're thinking of scraping Christmas gifts this year and take a trip to Hawaii!! That will be so different for us, because of the lack of snow! lol

We're nutty about Christmas around our place. I usually start shopping pretty early because I keep my eyes open all year round, and Jonathan's worse than I am. :D
I can't wait for Christmas this year. Even though we have a bunch of little traditions we've started since we've been together for so long, it just seems like this one will be really special.

I usually start in September. I try to put the BIG gifts on lay-a-way, so 1. I can pay them out, and 2. I dont have to find a place to store them.

I had things on layaway last year for the first time. We also had gifts stored allover place. I had things stored at my house for other people and I had things at my parents house stored. It was crazy. This year Christmas will be pretty small because it is only a week from the wedding. Justin and I have decided to not buy anything for each other and I told my parents to not get me anything. They will probably get something small for me, but I am not going to tell them anything I want. I'm sure I will get the Holiday Barbie. I get one every year. I am an avid Barbie collecter. I have a whole room dedicated to my collection. I started it in 1994.

Are we talking about Christmas already?! ;)
I voted 'Several months out' I usually start getting ideas and looking for things about October I guess. I really hate crowds so I try to get most of my shopping done by Thanksgiving. I might have to pick up a few things as the holiday grows closer, but not much.

Yes we are talking about Christmas already! My favorite holiday! It just seems to get here so fast after school starts. It is like boom it's school time, boom it's Halloween, boom it's Thanksgiving, and then boom it's Christmas.
Then to me the rest of the year it slows down. The Fall is more exciting. There's football season, county fairs, festivals, and it goes fast. Besides that you can do more things outside around here because it's not so darn hot anymore.

You all actually go to the store? HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! Internet! I hate Christmas shopping. The day I manage to make it to the mall is "Let all the annoying clueless people in for free" Day. I don't even bother at this point. Amazon.com, JCrew.com, BananaRepublic.com, and Brookstones.com. I figure the extra money I spend on shipping is counteracted by the fact that I don't have to deal with Christmas shopping crowds.
But to answer the question usually 2-3 weeks before the holiday. I can't stand having all that clutter in my house!

I always, Always, mean to do it earlier in the year... starting in sept say, so that I can spread out the cost. Somehow, though, I find myself starting a week or so before Thanksgiving. THere was one year though, when I literally did all of my christmas shopping in two hours at the mall, 2 days before Christmas. Hopefully I never do that again!

I love the hustle and bustle and crowds during the holiday season! I also like to shop. I'm not big on internet shopping. I like to touch things and see them with my own eyes.

if you are an idiot then so is me and my family. We like this annual event for ourselves. We make a day out of it. Kinda started a tradition a few years ago with it. That kicks off the season for us.

Oh yes. I love it! Last year my mom and I got up at 4 AM and were lined up by 4:30 in front of Wal-Mart in the cold waiting for it to open at 5. The line was all the way backed up to the street. Then after Wal-Mart we came home and put some make-up on, changed clothes, and went off to Kohls and the mall. It was a blast! Later that evening we always go to bed early.

I usually start in July when we go on vacation. All the stores around here seem to carry the same things every year so it is nice to see some different things. I get most things on the internet too. I have quite a bit of my shopping done already. :ura1: I love the holidays and getting people gifts!! FH usually ventures out during the day on Christmas eve. He hates it but he seems to keep doing it every year.

That is usually a typical guy thing to do.

Most of the time we end up doing at the end of Novemeber early December. But.... occassionally i will find things that i can't pass up.
Last year MArk and decided that we were going to start earlier this year. We'd have more money to spend by spreading it out. And it would be alot less stressful for us we hope. Plus this year the local mall is under construction so it will probably be a nightmare!

We tend to wait till arond thanksgiving. But in NH we have to register and inspect our cars in the month of your b-day and mine falls in Dec. And I dont have a christmas club this year so money will be tight. So I have already started getting things here and there. It will be the only way we can do it this year.

My mom starts shopping in May and is always done by the end of the summer except for a few odds and ends. I don't know how she can do that!
We usually start in the begining of Novemeber. I try to get as much done before the mad rushes because I hate being in crowded stores. Of course I always end up out the week before to get something for someone
