At my shower this weekend, my mom decided to do the same centerpieces that I was planning on doing for the wedding. (A small pot, with fake flowers and a small scarecrow.) The only difference is that she used more then one type of flower, where the ones I planned on doing are all the same kind. She told me she saw my idea and thought it was perfect for the shower. That kinda upset me. Now I feel like I can't do what I originally planned on. IMO her centerpiece turned out nicer then mine and I just don't feel right doing the same thing. What do you think? Would it look wierd if we did the same thing for the wedding? I am half tempted to return everything I bought for the reception and start over!

That sucks. BUT really who is going ot notice and if they do notice adn say something they have such a silly way of thinking. I don't go to a person's wedding to pick apart their center piece! I say go for it....even ask your mom if the two of you can come up with something more for the ones you would like to do for the wedding! But I can also understand where you are coming from. Maybe someone can come up with some great idea for a center piece with the things you have already. I'll see what I can think up!! :D or find pics of on the net!! Again sorry that happened!

Thanks Shawna. When I talked to FH about it last night, he said the same thing. No one will really notice and they have too much time on their hands if they do. I guess it's just me that's worried about it!

I would be really upset too, but then I would remember that this is my weddinga nd it should be how I want it!! I agree that it might be a good idea if you just asked your mom to work with you to add a little something to your original idea...if you feel like it needs more...but I think that they will be fine!!! Noone really remembers teh centerpieces anyways, unless they are super super awesome or super super hideous!!! Mine definitely aren't either, so if this happened to me I would just use them anyways!!! Good Luck!!!

my MOH almost did the same thing, because we are using balloons as our centerpieces, fortunately my mom knew I would be upset, so she talked her out of it.
