I used to use LimeWire to download music long ago. I'm getting a new MP3 player so I need some new music. Where do you ladies download from? Do you pay fees, pay per song or what? Open to lots of options. I don't want to pay per song.

I use iTunes for songs that I want. Usually the songs are 99 cents a song, or 9.99 or so for the whole CD.
There used to be a really good site called Ruckas or something like that and if you paid like $30 a semester (I think you needed a .edu email address) you could transfer it from your computer to an ipod/mp3 player. Sadly shut down for some reason, the people decided they didn't want to do it anymore. It was a legal company though.

Oh, I almost forgot. This wouldn't help you with getting music on your mp3 player, but while you are on a computer Pandora is pretty good.

Funny because I'm on Pandora now! LOL.
I love Pandora. I use it to find new music all the time.

I get lots of music from Amazon. They have lots of free songs available for download too.
As for Pandora, I personally think Slacker.com is better ;)

If we're cleaning the apartment, Will turns on Last.FM. Otherwise, I get music from Amazon and friends.

Oh I miss Napster! I'll look that up. I'll pay for it as long as it protects me from viruses. I download hundreds of songs, so I'd rather pay a site fee than a 'per download' fee.

I use forums through rapidshare, mediafire, 4share etc etc.
New concept compared to limewire and other programs like it.
I usually only go on my mac since there are so many viruses on those forums. But basically people upload them into those websites servers and post them on the forums.
Different kinds of forums for different types, like I download Asian drama series since they dont show them in the US.
Or TV series because I usually miss them in the evenings plus I watch my favorite episodes a few times over.
Then there's music, ebooks, movies, applications etc etc

Usually bit torrent or mediafire, etc. If i am looking for American music i will google the heck out of it till i find it for free. If i'm listening to the internet radio, i go here: http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Anime
I also download a lot of anime and Asian Dramas as well...

iTunes user here, pretty exclusively.
I'll keep my mouth shut on the pirating type sites, because it usually does me no good to do otherwise.

I rarely download music, I usually just stream it. I have given up on MP3 players. Instead I usually stream last.fm, Pandora, or Grooveshark from my iphone (I LOVE Grooveshark, it's like Pandora, BUT you can listen to any song on demand. You do have to jailbreak your iphone for it).
BUT I used to use Napster which I like precisely because you pay a flat fee per month and download as much as you want. The downside is if you cancel your subscription you can no longer listen to the songs, but if you're paying each month anyway, it's pretty much unlimited music that you can put on your MP3 player.
There's also Rhapsody, another subscription service.
I recently saw a useful infographic comparing a bunch of current music services, lemme find it ...
A-ha! This article has the chart: http://lifehacker.com/5608715/battle-of-the-streaming-music-services
