After spending some time this weekend catching up on my celebrity news I'm ashamed to admit that there's a 2010 wedding trend (http://www.onewed.com/blog/savvy-scoop/category/news-notables/2010/02/09/top-ten-wedding-trends-2010/) we didn't forecast at the beginning of the year -- renewing wedding vows.

Tori & Dean, Mariah & Nick, now Heidi and Seal... what gives?

Have you noticed this trend in the real world, or is it a celebrity thing only? Are any of you lovely readers planning a renewal ceremony?

I have always thought renewing your wedding vows was so romantic :wub:

Although doing it every year like Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon seems a little excessive to me.

I would like to revew our wedding vows in like 10 years or something.

I performed a vow renewal for a couple's 50th back in January. It was sweet, but all the mess that went with it was a little over the top.

I might do it for a big anniversary, but I wouldn't try to "re-do" my whole wedding.

I would like to re-new our vows somewhere exotic/tropical on the beach with just DH and I, although I agree every year is a bit excessive. I was thinking maybe 5/10 years, or another big anniversary time.

I Love the thought of renewing vows, so sweet! and why not! :) Like Jeanne I think just us on a beach with some close friends would be nice,

I dont think id do it as big as this first wedding but who knows in a few years! Id like to do it a few times if i had the money, and celebrate our anniversaries big too... its would help if I had mariahs money though lol!x

Haha! In a way, Anton and I are having a vow renewal just 6 months after our marriage. :P But after THIS one, I think I'd want to wait some 5-10 years before doing another and it would likely be VERY simple and just the 2 of us.

Vow renewal does seem to be a big trend, with people having very small weddings and then having a big one later... or thinking that they want to do that. I also like the idea of having it on a big anniversary. It'd be awesome to do on a tropical vacation with just the two of us and our kids (which we'd have by then).
