How did you select your color scheme - was it your favorite color?? what?

My color scheme is
Platinum - bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids
Pink - flower girls
White - me

I decided my colors by looking at bridesmaids dresses. I really like the periwinkle color, so I chose that with silver. Everything looks awesome so far!

I chose the colors of my favorite flower: a yellow rose with pink tips. The bridesmaids will be in yellow, which is also my favorite color, and the junior bridesmaids will be in pink. I'm hoping my flower girl will be in yellow, but it will be more luck of the draw (we're hitting a department store around next easter for her dress---she's very little). My dress is ivory and my fiance will have an ivory vest. I'm pretty sure the guys will have yellow vests (if I can find them). I'll be carrying my favorite flower and my bridesmaids/junior bridesmaids will be carrying tulips that are the opposite color of their dresses. My flower girl will be carrying daisies (if she's carrying anything...lol). The guys will have tulip bouteniers (?), my fiance will have my rose, and our parents will have white roses. That's my scheme.

I orignally picked a butter yellow, a deep purple and a soft blue for my wedding colors. But once I picked my wedding dress I had to change my colors because my dress is Ivory with red accents through out the dress. Now as time has gone on and in planning the wedding and living day to day life, I realize that red is my second favorite color...next to yellow of course...lol. So I guess I did pick one of my favorite colors for my wedding colors. As far as vests, my FH will wear a silver vest and the grooms men will wear red to match the brides maids dresses. I didn't pick Ivory for my FH's vest because it will only blend in with his white shirt and look weird. (My future SIL had her husband where an ivory vest and in pictures it didn't look like he was really wearing any vest or tie because it blended in with his white shirt.) My flower girl will probably just wear an ivory colored dress and the ring bearer will wear a little black vest with no coat so that he doesn't get warm and cranky...lol. I will probably tie the red into his outfit with some red accents on the ring bearer's pillow.

My sister in-law's color scheme is black and white with a touch of red. She said that she was thinking that the guys will wear just black tuxes with a white vest, but as i was reading, it was mentioned that it might not look like they are weasring vests at all. The bridesmaids are wearing black dresses and carring white roses. The bride is wearing a white dress and carring read roses. Anyone have any suggestions on what she should do. She doesn't want a lot of red just a touch? :roll:

Maybe she could do red vests for the guys. Or red roses for their boutineers and corsages for the mothers. Just a thought.

I am going with pink and white. Pink has been favorite color since I was a little girl. My dress is white with pink accents on the skirt. My bridesmaids are wearing soft pink dresses. They are carrying monochromatic pink bouquets while I carry pink and white flowers. They guys are all wearing traditional black tuxes with pink flowers except my FH who is wearing lily of the valley and clover.

SHe is crazy too :) She wants the guys to wear white roses too. I talked to the person taking the pictures today and he told me to look to see what they will look like when we go pick the tuxes out. So that is what I am go ing to do, SHe trusts me so that is all good ;)

My daughter's colors are gold,rust,cinnamon, dark green- fall colors. Her bridesmaids will be wearing cinnamon and the groomsmen black tux with cinnamon vests. It is looking very beautiful.

Light Purple and Ivory. My favorite color is light purple, and I'm not a 'white white' girl, so Ivory will be it.

Bridesmaids- Light Purple Dresses with Ivory Roses

Groomsmen- Black Tux, Ivory Vest, Ivory Rose

Groom (Carlo!!)- Black Tux, Ivory Vest, Light Purple Rose

Bride (Me!!)- Ivory Dress with Light Purple Roses

I chose my colors based on the season. I am getting married in the fall so I am doing fall colors. My MOH's dress will be burgundy and everything at the reception will have something to do with fall.

My color scheme changed since I posted it. I am doing all black and white with a little bit of pink accents on the bouquets.

Me - white with pink peonies, stephanotis, and lily of the valley

MOH/BM - black dresses with pink and white flowers

Groom/BM/GM - black tuxes with black bow ties and vests. The BM/GM will have pink sweet peas and Sean will have lily of the valley.

Flowergirls- black dresses with white sahses and pink pomanders of roses.

Me: white dress, bright pink flowers
Bridesmaids: champagne dresses, bright pink flowers
Flowergirl: white dress, bright pink sash
Guys: black tuxes, champagne vests, ivory or pink bouts

Most of the decorations will be bright pink

Brian chose our wedding colors. We had been having problems with that part and he was being difficult. We were looking at a couple's ring and our birthstones are turquoise and opal. He said those would make pretty wedding colors. He was right!

Our Wedding colors will be apple (red), black and white. The men, inclduing FH will wear traditional blach tux's with red vests and ties (not bow-ties), and they will have ivory rose bout's, except my FH,who will have a deep red rose. My dress is ivory/mocha and I will carry deep red roses. The bridesmaids will be wearing apple dresses and carrying ivory roses. The Bridesmaids ivory roses will be laced up with red ribbon and my red roses will be laced up with an ivory ribbon. We are not having aflower girl or ring bearer. The deep red roses carry throughout the reception, with the cake, the centerpieces, the favors, which are long stem red and white rose candles. The funny thing is, is that I don't usually care for red, I always thought that I would go with a blue....go figure.

Our wedding colours are Cloudy Blue, Black, white, with a splash of Pink :D
Blue is my favourite colour, black is a close second. Black is Mark's favourite colour. And.... white because i'm having a white dress and with the table linens etc.

My dress is 'Diamond White'
My boquet will be shades of pink tulips and peonies or just tulips.
Mark will wear a black tux with white shirt. I'm not sure of the vest and tie colour. But most likely cloudy blue. his bootneer will be 2 pink tulips. one light and one dark.
The bridesmaids will be wearing cloudy blue tops with black skirts. The boquets will be white tulips or peonies or a combo of both.
The groomsment will wear black tuxes with white shirts and cloudy blue vests and ties. The booteneers will be a pink tulip.
Everything at the reception will be white and blue but the flowers in the centrepeices will be pink peonies.

My colors are the 6 colors of the rianbow just toned down to pastels.

My dress I don't have yet but I know I want lilac as an accent color. But if I cant find one I love with lilac i can go with just about any other color.

I have 6 girls.......


My MOH- lilac
5 brides maids in --- light blue, yellow, orange, mint green, and a darker pink

I have 2 flower girls but not sure on their dresses yet but i am not too picky about them

2 ring bearers who might just be in suits or tuxes not sure thre either

JR bride and Groom with be dressed like the bride and groom

I want the guys vest to math the girls dress that they will be walking with. I may have 2 more girls then guys but that should be fine.

I wnat my FH to wear a white vest or opal or something shimmery just nto a solid color. The tuxes will all be balck besides the vests.

I am thinking of either doing each table in a different color ( 6 tables 6 colors ) or just mixing the colors and goign with it.
