Hi x
We had paper lanterns at our wedding... They were the ones that you have to light, then the heat lifts them up into the air! We did it at night and everyone had their own. Each guest was given a long-handled match and they wrote some messages on them before letting them go. Sooooo unique and a real feature!
Has anyone else used them or thinking of using them? If you're looking for a unique touch for your evening 'do, then I really recommend these!

That's a great idea! Do you have any recommendations on where to buy them?
Thanks!

thats a great idea and all but I would check with state law or county ordinance before doing all that.
It could be harmful to the environment. Or it could be considered littering once the lanterns fall.

Ohh yeah that might be bad...
as well as if you're near a bunch of trees (me) it's more of a possibility that something will catch on fire...
even if you'd put a string or something onto the lantern and attach to something on the ground..
Thanks for pointing that out!

Thanks for pointing out the safety element - when we used them, one got caught around the electric cable that ran to my sisters' house and it was lit!!!!! :whoa: Luckily, it managed to free itself and floated away - phew!!!!
She bought them from a store in the UK and they weren't very expensive. The ones she bought were biodegradable. Also, we didn't need permission to "launch" them, but I guess it varies from place to place?

Yes I agree with you guys, it depends on the government law if they allowed this kind of stuff. But I believe it is really interesting and cool that everybody share ideas of having party wedding extravagant.

I think as long as they are biodegradable, they are fine. They would look beautiful at an evening beach wedding!
