View Full Version : Venting Over Road Rage Idiots!

This isn't wedding related venting but it's 3 days before my wedding and I just don't need this ****!

Okay girls, you know me...I'm very opinionated and I have no problem telling people what I think...so today at lunch I was on my way to Hardee's and as I approached the entrance there was a car pulling out of the exit (the whole space is BARELY big enough for two cars to pass) so being that I drive a 3 door, full size long bed 4WD truck I had to SWING to the left in order to turn to the right and not wipe out the car coming out, either that or just stop until the car could get out which wasn't necessary because she knew what I was doing and so did I....enter the problem...a beige colored car (might have been a Honda) barreling up behind me that did not see 1) my blinker or brake lights and 2) the situation that I was trying to navigate...she almost hit me (were talking 3 inches or less)! I was fine, she didn't hit me I got out of her way and no harm no foul....I have been distracted before and had to put the brakes on and left some nice rubber before myself so I was just fine and dandy about the whole thing....UNTIL she and her passenger started SCREAMING (and they were worse than drunken sailors cussing) at me and WAVING their arms... they stopped in the middle of traffic (I by this time was already in the parking lot of Hardee's headed for the drive thru) and the passenger was hanging out (her stomach was on the door and her feet had to be on the seat for her to be that far out of the vehicle and she was yelling away and waving her arms.

HMMMMMMMM...any guesses as to what I did? I put my truck in park, took the keys out of the ignition (shows you how calm I was to have the forethought to lock my truck as I was leaving it) and climbed out...I walked over to the car (by now she had rethought her situation and was back inside the car) and began to explain a few things to both of them. Mind you I never yelled, I never exhibited any hostile behavior (which is less than I could say for them) and never threatened them in any way.

I simply stated I don't like to be screamed and cussed at, I don't like to have obscene gestures made towards me and I certainly don't like the scene you have caused that now involves me. Now if either of you "girls" would like to explain to me why you feel it necessary to behave like lunatics over a near miss incident that would have been your fault feel free to do so, otherwise shut up and move on before I lose my temper and we all go to jail! They decided to go on............I stomped back to my truck and by this time I had lost my temper and I had to sit there before I could quit shaking enough to get the keys back into the ignition...thank God for keyless entry or I would have been standing beside my truck shaking like a leaf on a tree....my adreniline was pumping so hard I could hear it in my ears!

OKAY I'm done now....sorry that just really TICKED me off!

I am just glad you are okay and there wasn't an accident! Some people are just rude, insane and need to be told that. Good for you for calmly pointing out the facts. I'd probably just think that they are not worth my time and aggravation and just keep going, and then stew about how rude they were and how I should have given them a piece of my mind.

Oooooh, people like that annoy me so much! They are one of my biggest pet peeves.

At least you kept your cool (well, enough to keep from yelling back:D ). Which is most likely what I would have done:bbredface: . You just proved to them that you are the bigger person.

Dont worry about people like this, they are idiots!

I do not understand what posessed me to get out of the truck...the way the world is today I could have been shot! Ugh I HATE it when I let someone like that under my skin...I think the shaking came from the realization that I was 3 days from my wedding and putting myself in such a horrible position! :bbeek:

Congratulations on taking the upper hand and telling them how it is. I am sure that when you were done with them...they felt about 1 inch tall!!!! That is exactly what tey needed. I am so glad that you are safe and not in jail Ellen, because that would just be horrible, especially three days before your wedding!!!!

Good for you on remaining calm about the situation. I have totally been in your situation as well. Its the worst when people are screaming and waving their arms like raving lunitics.
Just yesterday I was driving down a residential street (unposted speed is 40km/hr.), which I was totally doing under, and by chance, I had set cruise control prior to entering the residential area. Some :censored: idiot, pulls up behind me and starts lecturing me on how there are children playing and how I have to slow down, and also how he is getting my licence plate number so that he can call the cops next time. First of all my thoughts, if you are sitting in your garage drinking beer with people, can you really judge the speed of a car without a radar gun, unless of course you are a super hero who can measure speed and velocity? And second, if you are drinking beer, should you really be chasing someone on a residential street?

The worst thing was, I had my 3 yr. old daughter was with me and began to cry when this man started yelling! I was so :censored: mad. Instead of the guy calmly speaking, he was cursing and ranting on. I did keep my cool with him though and asked how he could possibly measure speed. I also why he was drinking and driving! After my comment he didn't have too much to say. I tell ya though I was furious! :bbmad:
Sorry to be dragging on.

I was thinking to myself, "Ellen, please don't get out of your truck." I guess that's the mother in me. I'm so glad she wasn't packing!!! Be careful, Ellen!!

AHEM...... well:bbredface: .........actually it was under my seat but I am intelligent enough not to go waving it around unless I plan on using it, it's there for my safety not to boost my ego....now if this happens Friday I'll shoot someone LOL!

Funny but I could just HEAR my mother in my ears as I was walking towards the truck after it was over...."ELLEN, have you lost your mind? "You could have been hurt, what were you thinking?" "Don't you EVER let me know of you pulling a stunt like that again!" LOL

I was thinking of her packing too, Ellen. You left yours in your truck when you headed over to her. I just hope she wasn't packing and had to hold herself back. She could be getting married soon too!! I can see it now, "Two brides in shootout over incident in parking lot." LOL!!! :D Stay safe, Ellen! You don't want to do anything to stop your beautiful wedding in three days!!!

I KNOW!

And (you would be very proud of me) I was so totally thinking (as her car skidded to a stop behind me) I hope she's okay, and I was actually being very open minded and thought "poor girl she must have something on her mind"......UNTIL she (and her chimpanzee passenger) went nutso on me...the baboon!! If she finds someone to marry her in that state of mind best of luck to them both LOL!

People are crazy now of days when it comes to that black chunk of tar we call a road.

It’s good nothing happen, me being a man I would have jerked them out of the car and been done with it. I have a special button for crazy people that turn my eyes red with rage that just sets me off quick.

Just relax and get ready to enjoy your wedding! ;)

Thanks l3vi! I will do just that!

Ellen you crazy girl! I saw two men do the same thing, only they both got out of their cars and the one was getting a little out of control and I'm expecting them to start beating each other at the red light. Matt had his hand on the door handle ready to break it up and I was ready to run. I've been in enough fights in my life, I'm not fixin into gettin into more!!!!! Oh well, they exchanged words and the guy who started it got in his car and roared off! I swear every driver should have a pysch evaluation before being allowed to drive!!! :bblol:
