hello ladies i was wondering if you had any ideas for covering up the walls of a reception room. My colors are red white and black and the walls are walpapered with bergundy, green and some other color flowers on them, they will clash with my colors. I need ideas please. Someone suggested to get black plastic sheathing from lowes and cover the walls with that.

I would drape black tulle over it, plastic IMO would look bad........Good Luck and welcome, I don't think I've talked to you yet!

Could you put some trees with twinkle lights around to mask it a bit? And maybe dim the lights and use a ton of candles? I was involved in one wedding where the bride wanted to cover up a giant mural and she used white lattice to completely cover the wall.

This is a good idea.....you can usually rent stuff like this for pretty cheap....your florist may even have some.

Covering things with lattice would work well!! :)

Can you see in this picture the lattice work that my DH and his dad built a while back! (Before I even came into the picture, they did it for my SIL's sil's bridal shower.) It covers up the junk that is in the corner of the hangar...this could also cover your fugly walls!!

They are quite simple to make. Buy the lattice work and some two by fours that run up the sides and at the bottom a stand so they can stand on their own. And you can drape them with tool or streamers or decorate them however you want!! :)

I think that the lattice of the tulle would look nice. I dont know that the plastic would look that great

Will black tulle cover the ugly wallpaper; can you see through black tulle?

I think if you deemed the lights slightly you would not be able to see through the black tulle that much at all. That picture of the wall was amazing, however it would be very pricey.

I found a closer up picture of the lattice work things I was talking about. Just thought I'd share them.

Get some small samples of the tulle and put it against the wall to see how well it covers up the wallpaper. It would be cute to use net lights (the christmas lights used for bushes) under the tulle or icecicle(sp) lights over the tulle.
