Okay, Im between 2 photographers. I want to get engagement pictures done and heres the options. They both do the pictures on a cd which is what I want...

First one is John Coffin...We know him through a good friend...he does really good pictures and heres his sample...

This is what he told me through FB...My normal deal for working a wedding is 4 hours onsite, provide you with CD of images in 4x6 hi-rez, and on-line webpage for viewing the images. You can also order enlargements if you so choose. My fee is a flat $500, but keep in mind 4 hours is plenty of time for me to shoot formal shots, the wedding, and a good bit of a reception. Engagement photos I charge $50 for a 1 hour session. I would then give you a CD with 4x6 images and the ability to order enlargements.

The second option is a girl I stubled upon looking for photographers...

The engagement session fee has two options:

#1 Includes: 1-2 hour session at Cristina's Studio available inside with a black, white, and khaki backgrounds as well as access to outside shots at the Jim Saucier Park with a waterfall (by the Southaven Library & Police Dept). The cost for this session is $50

#2 Includes: 1-2 hour session at an agreed location in the Southaven/Olive Branch/Horn Lake/Hernando area of your choice. This can be either in your home or at a park. The cost for this session is $100

The session fee is for the photographer's time and talent as well as editing and designing each image in my unique style. It is due in full the day of your session, Cash or Check.

1-2 weeks after your photo session, 30-40 best images will be available for viewing online in a variety of color and black & white tones. The session fee does not include hard copies of your images or digital files. Prints and Cds are sold separately.

The price of images on a cd are as follows:
All images are high resolution digital files with a copyright release. You can print, share, and post online.

1 image $15

15 images $54 (each image $4.50)

25 images $100 (each image $4.00)

40 images $150 (each image $3.75)

Once payment is received , cds will be shipped. Expect your cd in 10-14 business days. A rush is available.

Photo shoots can be any day of the week, depending on scheduling. Let me know what days work best and time to set up your shoot.

For out engagement pictures I really want them outside...I just love outside picutes...sooo which one do you ladies think I should pick??

I guess it depends on what style you like. I see the first photographer of being more traditional, whereas the second one (I googled her) seems to be me more artsy/fashion driven. We went with photographers that were like the second one, but that is what we wanted.

Either way, all packages seem reasonably priced and the photographers look like they do quality work!

If it were up to me, I would go with John - not based on price necessarily, but based on his portfolio. His website shows A LOT more wedding pictures than hers does - he has dozens, and she only shows 5 actual wedding pictures - which would make me nervous about her consistency and expereince. Also, Cherished Moments doesn't include a CD of images - and if that is something you want I think it makes the decision easy!

I definately would go with the first one as long as he also provides a release on all pics. The 2nd one didn't show any pics that I couldn't or haven't taken something very similar to myself... photography is my hobby, so I do take lots of pics :P including some friends' engagement and wedding photos... but if you are paying for wedding photos and editing, you want something extra special imo.

I always say to look for someone that offers what you want (style, final product, etc), at at price you can afford, and most of all it should be someone you get along with. So testing them with an engagement session is a good idea :)

According to you should check out both, what they are offering and what price they are offering.
If you think that you are getting the best deal then you should go for that.
