I really like calligraphy, but can't afford it. I am trying to figure out the best way to get my envelopes printed without a lot of money or time... Any ideas?

I printed mine on my ink jet printer directly on to the envelope in a script font. People actually asked me if I used a calligrapher.

I agree, printing them from a printer is great. There are a lot of lovely fonts. Just check out some font websites.

Another idea is to practice and learn calligraphy yourself!

i printed onto clear address labels and slapped em on... it would be been better to print directly onto the envelopes but it was just easier to print them out en mass

I would really like to print on the envelopes - has anyone found a good computer program?

Since I posted originally, my sister found a great addressing program for her wedding - www.addx.pro (http://www.addx.pro). In just a month a bunch of us have signed up for it cause it is so inexpensive but the envelopes look great. Thought I would share - I am pretty excited about this program - just what I was looking for!

This is something else I am looking into! My sister can do calligraphy but since she is left handed, she says it's backward for her and isn't sure how nice they'd look. I am going to look into that site.

That's what DH did! It came to him pretty easily, but he spent a few months practicing before he did our envelopes--they turned out gorgeous, and a lot of people complimented them -- I was so proud of him! (Sorry, totally off subject, I know!)

We used labels for our envelopes and they came out really cute. We went to an office supply store and got some clear labels and we color coordinated the labels on our inkjet printer. It was really easy and came out great!
