I am going to the store later today to buy supplies. I am trying to keep the cost of these down as much as possible. Any suggestions on what type of flowers to use? Our colors are pink/green/white (although so far mostly just pink....oops). Should they be all one color of multi. colored?

Really you could do either - but i think the multicolor ones stand out better. You can also just choose two colors - and you don't have to have even amounts. You could do 2/3 red and 1/3 white or something similar.

They do end up being rather expensive - and you need to decide on silk vs fresh. For silk, you can sometimes get a deal at a craft store or even the dollar store :toast:

Sometime you can find the pre-made kissing balls at the craft store and they trend to be cheaper then making them yourself. You could add ribbons to incorporate your colors too.

I went with the pre-made kissing balls from AC Moore. They have them at Hobby Lobby, too, I believe. Very cheap!

I made mine myself. The only ones that the stores around here carried were roses only. I wanted calla lilies, so I made them myself. I found a whole bunch of mini callas on ebay for about $20, which was a really good deal because there were SO many! So the color in mine was burgundy and green (because I left the leaves on it) and it turned out pretty good I think :) But buying them in pre made really is cheaper I'm sure.

I bought pre-made ones from ebay and didn't really like them - they got flat in the mail. So my dad ended up making them. I think he said he ended up spending $15/ball in flowers and I think he got the flowers at the Dollar Store.

If you'd like to see a pic just let me know.
