Our proposal was a meaningful location on December 23, 2005. We were in my grandmother's town for Christmas. They have a display where you can walk through the Christmas lights by the lake. The year before we had went down there to look at the lights and we had a nice time. So we went back and walked through the lights. Then we went across the lake and on bended knee he asked me to marry him!

Well the 1st time he proposed it was on the front porch. When he gave me my engagement ring, it was on my birthday and he had to propose again before he put the ring on my finger.

Eric proposed to me at the door of my apartment when he was coming to pick me up early on a Saturday morning!

The day was gorgeous (April 22nd) and he rang the door bell (I remember grumbling because he had a key) when I opened the door (half dressed) there he was all cowboyed up and leaning against the door, I never even saw the ring until he stepped in.............cut to the end................he took the ring out and started to place it on my finger and I curled my finger under and said "Is that all you're gonna say" (He had said, "here's your ring baby") then he laughed and said, "will you marry me"?! He said I scared him when I curled my finger under, he thought I was saying no!

He made me dinner and we ate a very formal dinner in sweats... he had to go change to see King Kong and when he came back down he was dressed up and had stuck the ring in the cake... he was on one knee and had to pull the ring out of the cake because i couldnt see it.

Manish had finally gotten his father's blessing in August 2005, and had been looking at rings. I knew he had purchased one because I saw an email he had gotten (completely by accident- he left the computer on with his Inbox up and then went away from the computer!!). I didn't know he'd gotten it though. Anyway, right after thanksgiving they have the Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center and we were watching it on TV. So he says to me that we should go see the tree because in all the years he's lived in NY, he'd never gone to see the tree.

So we went, along with his brother and their really close friend. We walked around for a while, taking pictures and just hanging out. Then, right before we were going to leave, my FBiL says... "let me just get one of just the two of you." Then, mani gets down on one knee and says..."Well, I figured it was about time. WIll you marry me?" Of course, I said yes. I couldn't stop smiling. THen, of course, we had a bunch of strangers hugging us and taking pictures, because it is Rockefeller Center at Christmas. It was really great though!

Our proposal story is nothing special really. I told Matthew I didn't want him to make a huge fuss over things. So that day we went to dinner with my grandma and afterwards Matthew said he wanted to take a walk in the local cential park. So we did. We got down by the cow palace and he stops me and says all these beautiful things about how beautiful I am and caring and loving and how he would be happy if I would be his wife. Then he pulls out the ring and he slips it on my finger and we start hugging and laughing and crying. We walk back to the truck and I'm giddy as can be. Bouncing up and down. Then finally in the truck it hits me and I look at he ring and how beautiful it is and I'm speechless. (And for me, that's a miracle!! lol) When we got home I call my parents and all they say is "We know, congratulations!" lol

Adam proposed to me on my birthday which is also our dating anniversary. He was on his knee when I walked in the front door. My son was right behind me. He said "Dad that is so nice for you to do that for Mom". That was so cute!! Adam was so nervous he said he was glad I didn't cry, he wouldn't be able to handle it. Poor thing.

I actually asked him first and then immediately following (before he even responded) he got up on one knee (in bed) and proposed to me. We both looked at each other at the same time and said yes.

No real formal proposal, we had just been talking about marriage for a long time and agreed that getting engaged would be a great next step for us.

I sorta had two proposals.... One was when we ordered the ring (we ordered it a craftmen's fair and it was going to take about a month for the ring to be made) and that proposal was less formal and was more him making calculations of whether he could afford the ring. LOL.

The second was when we drove out and picked up the ring... The artisian who made it doens't live that far from some rather strange graffiti that reads, "I still love you chicken farmer" we drove out to it, stopped, and he went down on one knee and proposed and gave me the ring. :)

Thats sweet......mine was the opposite. He proposed on August 19th without a ring. He got down on his knee in front of me and said the sweetest things to me. Alot of the oldies in here will remember that I thought he was breaking up with me. He surprised me with my engagement ring on my birthday October 1st. He hid it under a strawberry on my cake, well it was his idea, but his mom did the deed. His mom said that he couldnt just give me the ring, he had to ask me to marry him - IN FRONT OF SEVERAL MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY!!!!!! He told her he already asked me! The 2nd one was more of a "so do you wanna?" type of thing!

Well his mom wanted to put it in the cake.....he was scared I might chip a tooth or something. So they hollowed out a huge strawberry, barely stuck the ring in the cake, and set the berry over it.

He was planning on doing a romantic dinner proposal....but that never happened because I threw a fit one night and he didn't want me to be upset, so he ended up proposing that night in our living room in our apartment.

He surprised me with a chartered plane ride over the city and proposed as we were flying over my favorite part of the city. I was completely surprised.

In Jan 2005 I went to IN to help my aunt out after a bad break-up...and I was gone for a week!!! On Friday I was on my way back and Joel was supposed to make us a special dinner that night. Well I had to drop my brother off at my other brother's house and when I got there I noticed thatI had a message. It was Joelsaying taht he was sick and had came home from work early and was gonna get soem sleep. He asked that I call him when I got the message, becuase he still wanted to try and fix dinner. Well, I called him and told him not to worry about dinner, that we would do it when he felt better. When I got home there was a candlelit path strewn with rose petals throughout our apartment and it went around a corner...so I couldn't see where it ended. In the first part there was a typewriiten letter telling me how much he loves me and all these great romantic things...but I didn't get that it was a proposal until the last line. I then rounded the corner and he was at teh end of the path on bended knee holding my ring and he asked me to marry him!!!

Yeah I don't have a romantic proposal story :( DH never really asked, we had talked about getting married and just decided to finally do it!

He sort of asked one night after I made the comment that he never really asked, but I don't think that really counts ;)
