I have to ask, How the heck can you tell what position the baby is in? (ie, head down, breech, etc.)

I swear everytime I feel like a head is down (way down cause it's uncomfy) I feel a kick...Or a punch?? LOL. I have no idea. Then there are other times when I feel like I have an octopus in there!!!

Soo, how is everyone figuring baby positioning out?

I am no where near far enough along to be able to tell anything yet - but I have heard about belly mapping as a way to tell the baby's position...I think you need a way to hear the heartbeat though...

Yeah, it looks really neat - I can't wait for this little one to be big enough for me to try it!

I was told one of the best ways to tell is where you can feel hiccups at. If they are below the belly button, baby is head down. Though, I would think if they were transverse it would be the same... but at least you know baby is head up! lol

My daughter was breech and I felt like I had a bowling ball (her head) under my rib cage. The weird thing was that I kept feeling kicks and punches around my ribs also. Turns out that my daughter was butt down with her arms and legs above her head. The funny party was that she was stuck in that position for a few weeks after the birth, but her legs gradually came down.

Right now my Jack is head down, and he's laying on his side, so his spine is actually to my right. I feel more movement on the right side and can't tell if its a leg or arm.

Though I do know his head is pushing on my darn bladder though! lol
