Spinoff from my sore foot thread :lafhard:

How old is your pedicure?

Mine's from November when Matt was away for the weekend and we had a girls only party.

So.... 4 months old and past time to do it again.

You preggo ladies better do it while you can  I know I just might - tonight maybe :)

I did mine a couple of weeks ago; before that it was some months since I last painted my toes.

I just noticed a chip as I took this pic -

I guess I will need to redo them soon ;)

Haha, these pics are cute! I just took my polish off a week or so ago. I need to redo it! I usually leave it for 3-4 weeks in the winter, maybe 1-2 weeks in the summer because it gets messed up quicker.

I'm not showing you my feet! There's no paint left on my feet since I last had a pedicure (last summer!) I cut & file my toenails when they need them but haven't bothered to paint them since its winter and no one really sees my feet this time of year. I hope to go in for a pedi when spring arrives.

Kristen - even in the summer I only do it about once a year and leave em till it's all gone  I need more girls days! :)

Danielle - you can talk about everything that has to do with pregnancy and leading up to it, but you won't show us your feet? :lafhard: Hehee just picking on ya :winktongue:

Hehe! Talking about it is one thing but showing you is completely different! Lets just say, feet aren't my favorite part of the body and mine don't get to come out really unless they are kept up. ;)

I did mine about 3-4 weeks ago because I couldn't take it anymore! Before that...probably the last time I worse sandals which was in October when I stood up for a friend's wedding. Once the socks and boots go on, I seem to forget about my purdy little toes! ;)

Pedicure? What pedicure? ;) I got a pedicure last March for my wedding. It hung out for a couple of months and then I finally took it off. Then I didn't do anything with my toes until November when I had them painted black. Then the black sat through January. Now they're just toes. Just unpedicured toes.
I'm not good at keeping up with that kinda stuff...;) Although I know it would look better if I did!

One of my guilty pleasures - had a pedi two weeks ago, and usually have one, once a month.

Mine is about a month old. Chipped bright pink. I've been meaning to redo it, but I keep forgetting. Maybe I'll remember now that I've been reminded?

I did get a manicure last week though.....

You guys made me feel guilty today so I went and painted them! As soon as I did it I realized that I hate the color, and it was kind of old, so I threw the bottle away. I kept it on my toes though because I'm too lazy to redo them!

And I should add that I've only had one "real" pedicure, it was in 2004 right before high school graduation, and I had to BEG them to stop filing my toenails! Ugh! Never again.

I've actually never had a pedicure! I have painted my toes, but no one has ever done it for me! I just think they are too expensive when I can trim and paint my toes myself! :)

I very rarely paint my toenails.. the last time I had polish on them was over a year ago when I was trying this stuff from Avon that you just press on (and tear off the excess) and it's got the polish and top coat. I've never had a pedicure, and I don't think I will 'cause I hate it when people touch my toes; my mom is the same way. I think polish looks cute, but it's just not for me.

The last time I had polish on my toes was for the wedding last May. It stayed for about a month and then I finally gave up and took it off. I really ought to be better about giving myself pedicures since I ALWAYS wear flip-flops, even when it snows sometimes!

I've had one in my life and that was for my wedding. So this thread is for whether you do it or someone else does :)

Pedicure? What pedicure? ;)

:yeah_that:

I regularly trim the nails, and I put polish on them for the first time in awhile when I got married. It was a very very translucent pink. I can't imagine it lasted long though... but I've never had a pedicure professionally done, don't see the purpose. In the winter I wear boots constantly, so it's not like anyone would notice. My orientation towards my body is pretty utilitarian so I tend to see things like manicures and pedicures as expensive ways to inhibit my hobbies or methods of getting by (painting, jewelry making, typing, cooking, biking, etc). I don't know, I'm just not talented enough to be pretty and useful at the same time

I use to go get a spa mani/pedi at about $50 a pop every 2-3 weeks, but these days I just see it as a waste of money. It is not hard for me to trim and buff my fingernails (I keep them natural) and trip and paint my toes myself. Although I don't do it that often ... I do miss the spa part sometimes though ;)

What is a pedicure???? LOL

The last time I painted my toe nails, my MIL saw them, said she liked the colour and then plunked her feet in my lap and asked me to do her toes too!

Apparently no one had told her that I can't stand other people's feet!!!!! :realmad:

Oh y'all, mine is so sad! I painted them blue in November, then painted on top of the blue in green for Christmas. They looked good most of January but after that...no. So by Monday, only my big toes actually still had paint on them, so I just took off what's left. I better get to painting again while I can!

Back when I was working full time and someone else was paying my salary, I got a pedicure once a month and a manicure every two weeks. Now I'm lucky to remember to file my nails.

I love getting pedicures! I get the spa pedicure and they sit me down in a really awesome massaging chair, put my feet in a little hot tub for the feet, give the most amazing foot & lower leg rub down...it feels soooooo good! And then they do such a good job painting the toenails and they put something on it so that it doesn't chip. I can't really justify spending the money on them too regularly, but its a nice treat when I do decide to indulge myself.

LOL I just posted something about this on my SIL's fb yesterday!

My last pedicure was July 31st for her wedding. I have a tiny bit of yellow left on the tip of my right toe, but the other night I slammed my foot into the coffee table and my nail split! It's too low to trim it so I'm just hoping it doesn't catch on anything and break off and hurt more! So yes, I have had my toenails painted for 7 months and counting. I would LOVE a pedicure right about now!

I couldn't tell you the last time I had my toes done! Or when the last time I actually saw them for that matter!

Once he's born I am getting them done!!

I am planning on buying some new polish and doing up my toes tonight, actually! Yeah, it's been quite a while.

I actually had a great coupon type thing where I could get a haircut/style/mani/pedi at a local trendy salon for only $65!, but wasn't able to get the mani/pedi because of this whole pregnancy thing! They were super nice and just let me do the haircut and style and are letting me wait for the mani/pedi even though it was supposed to be done in one appointment.

This thread inspired me to paint my toenails last night for the first time since September.

I usually paint them pretty regularly, but in September my toe got stepped on really hard while wearing open toed shoes on a dance floor and my big toenail turned black and blue and fell off. That's why I haven't bothered to paint my toes since then. It's about halfway grown back now so I painted the little bit of nail that I have on that toe. It's kind of sad to look at, haha. I hope it's grown back completely by summer so that I can wear sandals. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I have never had a real pedicure. Someday...

Ohhhh Kirby I'm sorry but that hurts!!! It hasn't happened to me, but my mom's got it on like 3 of her fingers even now  ouch!

I lost a toenail once and it came back fine (the 'piggy that had roast beef') :D Takes a long time though, so just be patient.

I had my pinky fingernail ripped off from DH's steel toe boot about 5 months ago (had acrylic nails on). It grew back faster than I thought (3 months), but it hurt like hell! I feel your pain, and I hope your toenail grows faster! (I think toenails generally grow slower?)

I got my first pedicure in December! I still have some of the paint on my toes. I just can't find my nail polish remover and always forget to buy a new bottle. Sad excuse.

Update!

I finally managed to get my toenails shaped and painted - it took some doing to reach them over my belly - but I think the results are worth it!

Yikes, I bet that did hurt! I have never had anyting like that happen, but I have heard about a couple of people that did; takes a while, but it does grow back.

I stubbed my toe and broke off a chunck of my big toe nail (down the side) once.

The last time I had a pedi I think was after I had one and the girl said I had an ingrown toe nail (big toe) and she tried to fix it, but it got infected after and hurt for like a week.

My parents are long distance runners and my mom frequently loses a few toe nails when she is training for a marathon. I guess it is the repetitive bumping against the inside of the shoe or something. So she's had it happen several times. I'm not sure how long after training it grows back though.

I didn't get one even for my wedding! We did have manicures--sneaked off with a friend the day before and found a place in the town where we were staying. But both of us wore closed-toe shoes for the wedding (in Massachusetts in October, we needed them!), so I couldn't see a lot of point in getting pedicures.
