This topic gets brought up alot so I thought I would post it here ...
In order to claim the monthly payout you have to have a PayPal account. If you don't already have one, you can get a free personal account online at www.PayPal.com You will need to be sure that the email address you registered here with is tied to your PayPal account. Or if you already have your account set up with another email, you can add it. You can add up to five email addresses to your PayPal account.
If you don't have a PayPal account you cannot claim the money, if you do not claim it then it will go back to the sender. I am not sure what the time frame for this is though.
Once you have your account set up you can keep the money in your PayPal account for as long as you want. You use PayPal pretty much like any other account. Then you can transfer the money to your credit card and/or bank account or buy things online with PayPal.
I think there is a minimum amount before they let you transfer/withdraw funds, not exactly sure what that is. When you get some time just read up on all that stuff on the PayPal site, it is all there :)

A question that I had was do I have to PM anyone to let them know that I have a PayPal account now that I have one set up? Or is that just automatically detected?

It's automatic, and you will get a monthly email that will tell you how much was put into your account.

Yeah, as long as the email address you registered here with is tied to your PayPal account then you are good to go :D

It should also be noted that when there is a contest here, no one gets a payout. I know that is in the original payout explainations but it was brought up before so I just thought I would give everyone a heads up. Unless this has changed.

I know you have to have a certain number of posts per month, I think it is 20.

Yes that is still true. Unless otherwise stated, there is no payout when we have contests.
I believe l3vi said that this month is one of those exceptions, so we should have payout this month :)

This is another thing you should be aware of (not related to Payout, but PayPal in general) When you have a PayPal (or eBay) account you are subject to get alot of spam or 'phishing' emails. These emails will claim to be from PayPal and want you to sign in to verify something or sometimes will claim that your account has been suspended or stolen.
NEVER click on links from within the email! If you are not sure, open a new web window and log in to your PayPal account from there and check on things. You can report such 'spam' by forwarding the email to spoof@paypal.com and they will let you know if it was spam or not.
You should also know that PayPal will never ask you to verify your account in an email, and they will always refer to you with the full name you registered with.

I'm glad you brought that up Brandi!
I was thinking the same thing, someone sent me a fake email that said my paypal acct. was locked before. Thank God my bro. already warned me about that bc it has happened to him. I sent the spoof to paypal right away and they confirmed that it ws not them!

You mean to tell me we won't get paid just because a contest might be going on? Is it even worth it? Only a few people will win, so everyone else doesn't get paid?

That is correct. When we have a contest there are no payouts. However, we do think it is worth it.The majority of us are not here to get the payout. We are here to get/give advice and be here for each other. Besides, it's not like you are going to get rich off the payout. JMO.

The forums have the OPTION to do payout or contest, or both. It is a option that the board has if we are running high dollar contest. As we did this July and will be doing this month, we will be doing contest and payout to all members that have more then 20 post that qualify for payout.

Thank you for clearing that up L3vi..you are great!!! I knwo for a fact tat most of us that are here are not here for the payout and would still be here without it. The contests are funa nd they add a little extra excitement around here when we have them....so I personally enjoy them and if that means that some months we don't get a payout...well that is fine too!!! As far as I know none of the other boards pay you to post anyways...so it is just an added bonus!!! I love it here...with or without payouts!!! I love the ladies here who are all so awesome and who are supportive, give great advice and are always there to lean on when you need them!!!! JMO!!!!

Ok, I might be missing something, but everyone keeps talking about the "board." What is that and where is it located? Where do I find out about the contests. Sorry, I am a little slow here I guess!

Well you are on the board right now(board is the forums). At this minute we do not have a contest running but when we do I put them in the General Chat area.

Eheh...can someone give me a little help, because I'm a little lost?
On rules, it is said that we can be paid by post or earn prizes.
Right now (October), is there a contest on which one we can participate, or we will be pay for our posts? Which kind of contest do you use to do on forum?:D

I do not think we are having a contest this month, but I'm not sure. When we do have contests they are usually some sort of trivia type ;)

You get paid up to .05 cents for each quailifing post. The amount varies by the amount of posts as well as the advertisers that allow OneWed to do the pay out to begin with.
All post are ranked on a value it would give the forums. So if a thread or post is pointless then it probably will not be paid. Scripts do most of it and then humans do the rest at the point of payout.
Its not per user its across the board for all users on the amount of payout per post.
You can go back to the "Get Paid to Post" (http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=2776) thread or ask Levi for further information.

Whoa, what kinds of contests are we speaking of?
We hold random contests here on OW. In the past, we have had quizzes about members, photo treasure hunts, etc. When we have a contest it will be posted about in General Chat. :grinhappy:
