Ok I tried on dresses last week and I wear a size 8 dress, I plan on losing the 20 pounds that I gained from quitting smoking before my wedding on 06/07/08, the girl at Davids Bridal said that losing 20 lbs will not change the way the dress fits? I am 5'2" I think 20 lbs will make a huge difference, should I wait til I lose the weight and then try maybe a size 6 or take her word for it and order an 8? Who knows maybe when I actually order the dress next year I wont like it anyway? How far in advance did most of you purchase your dress please?

I would wait, and not take their word for it. And, like you said, you might find something you like a whole lot better by then. I would say you should start thinking about what your dress is going to look like a year away, but you probably should have it ordered at least 6 months ahead of your wedding. JMO Good luck! :)

I agree that I would wait. A whole lot can change in a year. The whole style of your wedding will effect the style of dress that you will want...and dresses will look different on you if you are 20 lbs lighter. I agree that you should know what style you are interested in and looking for about a year before, but atleast order it 6 months in advance. It took my dress over 4 months to come inf rom the designer!!!

I fixed it, but I need to see if I need to give you the code to make it work or not. Let me know. See if it will plop into your signature just like this.

Like the others have said, I would wait a little while. To me 20 lbs would make a good bit of a difference, it could mean a size or two. But you might not need to order your dress until you get about 6-9 mos before the big day. I guess it depends of the style you go with and how long it takes to get it in. Your dress will need to be altered to properly fit YOU no matter what. It is usually better to get it slightly bigger than too small.

Good luck!

Welcome and Congrats by the way :D

Just wait, 2 years is a little too early to buy a dress, esp. if you want to lose weight. The lady at david's is insane! 20 lbs. on anyone would make a big difference! They are on commission sales and she just wants to make the sale. Personally, I wouldn't go to davids for anything. Their stuff is way overpriced and they are forever trying to sell you stuff you don't need.

Try looking here: http://bridalonlinestore.com/ This is where I got my dress and veil, the exact same one I tried on in davids and it was half price and I had an excellent experience with them. Just read their policy, you only have 3 days to return your dress should you want/need to.

Here is an awesome site for tiaras: http://princessbridetiaras.com/ Great prices, excellent service. I got mine there and the first one was defective and they immediately replaced it and paid for all shipping costs.

BTW- I bought my dress about 9 mos. before the wedding. It is probably a good idea to start shopping about a year out from your wedding.

Go back to the site where you made it and see if there are any other choices for codes, like a vB code or img code and try those. The one you have might just be the link not the code to place the image. If I click the link I can see your ticker, but that's not what you want.

Use the BB Code at the Ticker Factory and it should work.
