Exactly what the title reads!! Can't always control it (or change the date of the wedding so there no conflict), so what did you do to try to prevent it?? Or how did you deal with it?? Share share share!!
About 5 months ahead of time I started skipping my AF. I took my B/C pills and just skipped the iron pills. So I had no AF for 3 mos prior to my wedding (providing adjusting time for my body to adjust to the pill change) :)

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I just started taking Seasonique almost 6 months ago, I will finish my 4th pack of pills THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. So the week prior is my "week". That will officially be 1 year on BC for me. Since I am only about to finish my 2nd pack in 2 weeks, it's taking longer for my body to get used to it. It's going "ok" but not 100% yet. I'm not sure what my body is planning on doing for the week before the wedding. If it goes like it's supposed to, I should be ok. But that may not be the case. I'm afraid of skipping those pills since my body is already not used to it, and it's not a monthly BC.
So looks like for me, I'm just going to have to deal with AF if my body hasn't figured it out yet. :bbconfused:
Hopefully you can actually do something about yours, Missie!

Based on how my period has been since I've started birthcontrol (and yes I just spent time counting it all out! :P) I should be fully done with my period at least 2 days prior to the day we are thinking of having the wedding. lol The funny thing is that the day I originally wanted that month would have been just 2 days after the start of my period and that tbh would have been scary indeed.... I think I would have gotten depends or something huge like that just in case! :P

haha me too! I'm so afraid of accidentally leaking or having an accident when I'm trying to take care of business in the rest room with AF.

Exactly!!! lol and I really don't know that I could pee in front of other people and lol with my dress I'd have to! Anton and I were just giggling about me being out there during the ceremony and feeling a "rush" and going "ok father HURRY UP!! I gotta go or you'll be seeing red!" lol

I've been on BC for years and there was no way I should have gotten it..but...the morning of I think I was so stressed out and on edge that I started spotting`1. UGH. Thankfully, it stopped by the time the night-time activities started! LOL

FMIL called me a while ago to ask me what kind of birth control I was on because she was concerned about AF coming during the wedding. Then she proceeded to suggest the depo shop because I guess your period won't come or something. I declined!
I tried to predict if it will be here for the wedding or not and I don't think it will. I might have AF symptoms but I shouldn't have AF. I started on the 26th last month and it usually comes like every 31/32 days so I shouldn't get it until after the wedding! :crossfingers:

I don't use the pill anymore but according to fertility friend, I should get my period May 2nd should AF stick to the normal 30-32 day cycle... if she's late even one month, she could mess that up tho!
Its sounds weird but i never realized that feb. would change the normal "day" i get my period... typically it's the 26 or 27th of the month... but b/c its a shortened month, next month its due on the 31st then the following its on like the 2nd...
i guess its better to have it OUT of the way than hoping its not gonna come early....

I didn't have mine. I got lucky 'cause I wasn't on any form of b/c to stop it from coming. According to monthlyinfo.com I was ovulating on my wedding day, haha. We chose not to see that as a sign to start trying..

Hormonal birth control screws with my head, so controlling my period wasn't really an option. AF joined us on Day 3 of the honeymoon. But it wasn't as bad as usual and to be honest I was drunk most of the time anyway. lol

Mine gets messed up every now and then; a couple of months before our wedding I realized I would have it on our honeymoon, so I got on the pill for a while to push it back a week.
I am lucky DH has a vasectomy and I don't need the pill because I don't do well on it. I get extra moody and I believe it had a lot to do with my "elevated" blood pressure scare back then too.

Scary story.. I had JUST started BC a couple months before.. Because i hadn't needed it until the wedding, since i was waiting. I was put on a generic of Seasonle called 'Quanex' or something like that.. Ladies, it was suppose to come a couple days every 3 months.
...Instead, it decided to come EVERYDAY FOR A MONTH.. I started freaking out and just.. Stopped taking it. It stopped about a week and a half before the wedding. o.o; I was a bit freaked.

I was on BC and somehow, AF showed up about 3 days before my wedding! I was so bummed out! Luckily, day of she was very very light, and gone by night time. I was able to spend our honeymoon AF free though!

Well for me AF is usually right on dot and always the first week of the month. *knock on wood* it stays that way since my wedding in on the 21st

I'm on seasonique, so it's the same idea, every 3 months. I'm only on the second "cycle" of pills right now, so I am about a week from my 2nd "scheduled period" but my first "cylce" I spotted for the last month and a half stright. It wasn't like a normal period, just very light, some days I didn't have to be a little more "protected" than other days. But I could clearly tell when my "scheduled period" started because it was clearly heavier, but still not as heavy as before the pill (thank god because it was BAD before!) As soon as I started my new pack of pills (well maybe a day or two later) It all stopped...until about halfway through month 2 again (same time as before) started spotted, and thats where I'm at now, though it's MUCH lighter than last "cycle"...
I think you're body just needed time to get used to it. I'm sure it would have work eventually, you just needed more time is all (but it looks like you didnt' have the time to give). I think that kind of pill is normal to do that, since your body is used to once a month, then on this pill you're skipping 2 before you have another. Good thing it stopped when you stopped!

Mine did! Per my doctor's advice, I tried to do the going straight into another pill pack and starting backwards (I'm on triphasic BC), and it kinda sorta worked for the wedding day but basically led to three weeks of spotting. :urgh:
So your mileage may vary if you decide to go this route.

I thought that, too! But... It had completely stopped doing it, then started... With a regular (not spotting..) period for the whole month almost.. It was the kind of 'do i have this much blood?' kind of period. o.o;

Were you taking the pill the same time every day? I know they say bleeding is more likely to occur if you don't take it at the same time each day. I'm not sure I would have been able to take it much longer than you did either if it was really that heavy!

I'm on the pill, so a few months before I charted out when to expect my periods and I worked the timing of the pills to keep AF far away from my wedding and honeymoon!

I knew, because of my BP, that I wouldn't have it for either the wedding or the honeymoon...but it wouldn't have so much mattered anyway. We usually end up falling asleep on big exciting days - we've never been ones who could really follow through with "planned sex"...

Yep! I was a pretty paroniod virgin. XD So.. I didn't take any chances preparing..
However, when i went to a diff gyno to get on some different pills (my first one was pretty useless. :bbconfused: ) he told me it was because the hormone mix that was in it wasn't working with my body.. Something along those lines. I needed something higher, heck if i could remember what it was, though! I really should know these things... =/ The pill i am on now has never given me problems..

Well this is good at least.
I just took a giant leap of faith when we set our wedding date. My cycles have never been regular and I was so anxious that it was going to show up for our wedding/honeymoon. We had abstained for several years so we were looking forward to our "first time" all over again. We were also going on a honeymoon to Mexico which meant days at the beach and pool. Thankfully it made its appearance several days after we got back from our honeymoon! Whew! :lafhard:

I was on BC (and had been for years), so it was easy for me - we actually picked our date partially based on my calendar! ;)

Mine began a few days before the wedding. As a matter of fact I had to use the bathroom right before the ceremony and I didnt want to take the dress off (it took me forever to get it on corset back) and decided someone was going to hold the front of it.
I ended up dropping the used tampon on my dress LOL :yesnod:
There was this tiny red stain on it but luckly the hairstylist (She was doing the BM's hair in the shared bathroom) used some magic spray she had and it was gone.
