Today is pretty much a "hallmark" holiday for us ;) But I am making one of DH's fav meals (cheese manicotti) for dinner and we got some wine.
I am making heart shape cookies for the dogs too.
I got some candy for my nieces and my mom got us some goodies.
What is everyone else doing today?

I spent the day with my dog and cat and watched movies while my FH was ice racing with his father.
We already celebrated VDay... Friday night FH surprised me with a sleigh ride and a night at a gorgeous inn with dinner and breakfast the next morning.
I think he's sucking up. :p

Valentines is pretty much over here in Europe. I was going to make Anton a card and be kinda dolled up when he got home from work (he is working night shifts right now so he was supposed to get home at 6am this morning) but he came home early because he wasn't feeling well. We watched several episodes of 24 while snuggling on the couch. :)
We knew he'd be working thru the weekend, so we already planned dinner and a movie for Tuesday instead! I've been working on his card tonight and it will be ready to give him when he comes home! :)

Today is not a good day. I ended up getting FH a couple little things,he said thank you.He didn't get me anything.Heck,he didn't even say Happy Valentine's day :(. Now,he's over at the garage with his dad working on the $600.00 snowmobile that he could afford (yet right now,I'm scraping everything I have together to get the heck away from his parents). What bothered me is the fact that he had no problem spending $600 on a snowmobile that he DOESN'T need but he can't even afford to get me a card. :( I hope everyone else is having a good day at least.

DH went up to the yard (Where his Office is) at stupid AM. I got up and did the housework and five loads of Laundry. Then drove over to the yard to spend some time with him.
No card, no flowers, no choccies. No change there then.
Walked in to find DH working on Health and Safety stuff. His Boss was at the other desk working. So it was nice to know i wasn't the only Valentine Day widow. (The Boss is Married and his Mrs was home alone)
Ended up leaving the Van there and bringing DH home in the Car. I'll be dropping him off at work at 5AM tomorrow. :bbconfused:
Day wasn't totally wasted though. DH cooked us a lovely meal. I washed the dishes and he fell asleep.
Just another day. LOL.
I woke up this morning to DH making breakfast, bacon and skillet potatoes and now he says he wants to go out to eat tonight...don't twist my arm! :)
Chad gave me a sweet card this morning and then I went to work only to be sent home when my boss took one look at me and could tell how bad I felt. I had high blood sugars yesterday and I feel pretty awful today. So after that Chad and I went to Whole Foods so I could find some food that hopefully won't spike my blood sugars. We pretty much just hung out together today and now Chad will probably be at work until 3 a.m. again. I am trying to be up and around cleaning as much as I can. So yeah, that's my Valentine's! :p
We'll have our Valentine's celebration Thursday when we're off together. We're doing fondue at home and we'll exchange small gifts then.

Joe woke me up for church this morning giving me a kiss and telling me " happy valentines day baby" i was kinda bummed out about not getting anything but then he was really usually sweet (i think b/c he didnt get me anything and he could tell i was upset) which made me happy. i came to the understanding that you dont need material things to express your love when his sweet words and actions are better :)

When we woke up this morning, my hair all a wreck, I looked to DH and said snarkily "Will you be my Valentine?" To which he responded "Oh shut up."
We're going out to a French restaurant this evening. I told DH we didn't need to do gifts or anything this year...although I think he's up to something because he said that we had to go somewhere before our reservation so I needed to be ready super early. But he wouldn't tell me why...:detective: Watch, it ends up not being related to V day and it's just a trip to CVS or something...

I just took pics and I thought I would share. :) This is the card (save for the mushy stuff I wrote on the other side of the inside part) that I made for Anton for Valentines Day. :)

The great part is that I was able to make this with the stuff I had on hand from making the engagement party invites! :D

We did a bunch of unpacking and DH went to get the last minute things from the old house today. Yesterday and today were very busy! I need to update my house thread! Also, once everyone left today (they were helping unpack and BIL was doing plumbing stuff in the bathroom), we were going to go to Famous Dave's, but we ended up ordering food from this little restaurant that I looove and eating it at our house. It was a very good Valentine's day.

We usually do just minimal stuff. This year though, FH said, "It would be wrong to celebrate if we went into it thinkin' we HAVE to do it, but if it's out of love than that's cool."
So we took the fur-babies for a walk this morning, came home and I cooked breakfast, then he took me to Sprinkles cupcakes (I asked to go a year ago and he remembered) then I surprised him with going to an antique tractor show, then we went out to lunch and I bought him a watch and he bought me a charm bracelet.
Came home about 5 and passed out! But it was a wonderful day.

We kinda semi-celebrated all weekend I guess you could say. Saturday night DH and I went out to dinner and to the movies to see Dear John. Got home just before midnight and shortly after midnight he gave me a card and a $50 Visa gift card to go buy some new shoes. Today I gave him his card and $$ towards his golf membership, we went out to dinner again and kinda hung out between me studying and getting the 2 cars washed.
I loved the card DH got me - it was perfect!

DH is away, so nothing planned there. But I did call my mom's friend that I'm really close to and we went out for late lunch/early dinner before the crowds showed up. When we left at 5:30pm, it was PACKED! Other than that, nothing special. I just told DH over AIM and the phone how much I missed him today!

well yesterday was also chinese new year so we went into boston's chinatown for dimsum w/2 other couples and pigged out... very tasty... the plan was then to find and watch the parade for a lil bit BUT for whatever reason they decided to hold the new years parade NEXT sunday :(
then we went back home, i did some homework, went to bed... FH decided V-day wasn't over yet and we'd forgotten the most important part ;) SO i had a great evening but needless to say am exhausted this morning...

I woke up to the most beautiful flowers, a singing card and a velvet box of chocolate. (Very cliche, but it was still nice.) Poor FH's gift didn't get in yet, so I made a word puzzle for him to figure out what his gift was. He enjoyed that. We giggle the whole time. We had a quiet lunch together and watched a movie in bed, which was nice. For dinner we went to PF Chang's. We got dressed up a bit and had a nice time. It was so delicious. However, we went to Cheesecake Factory 2 years ago and they did a better job about the ambiance than PF Chang's. Ah well. Then we drove around to look at some of the beautiful houses in the area when I had to pee. lol So we stopped at this deli that was closing and he was like "I'm so sorry! My fiance really needs a bathroom and the one next door is down!" (which is was.) That was interesting lol. Then we pulled up to my apartment and layed back in the car. We asked each other back and forth different questions like "What do you look forward to most?" and even talked baby names haha. It was nice to have some REAL quality time together after I've been so stressed!
Hope you ladies had a good one!

DH plays Pedal Steel Guitar and on the 2nd Sunday of every month, he has a meet-up with other steel players. He has asked me to go a number of times, but I haven't wanted to spend my entire Sunday listening to 10 steel players each taking their "solo" time during the same song. Today DH and I prepared 4 tunes and I took the stage and sang with the band. It was actually pretty fun, but was kinda like Karaoke where you wait 4 hours to sing for 15 minutes. The neat thing was this was one of the first times that I got to front a live band so that was a fun new experience!

FH got me a Tiffany charm bracelet, some flowers, and some candy for Valentine's Day, and I got them right when I woke up! I got him some boxers, candy, a bottle of wine, and a new watch. Then, we went to church and out to eat afterwards. When we got home, we baked a red velvet cake together and had some champagne.

Happy belated Valentines! I... Worked through Valentines! But thats okay.. I pretty much do every year. lol. With Steve and I's schedule, we decided to wait till this Friday... We usually just go out to eat, but i got free tickets to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts Museum) so we will go there and then greek town for dinner, since its close.. Maybe somewhere closer.. Since Detroit likes to charge an arm, a leg, AND your first born for parking. =P
